A ton of oak but this one feels balanced out with age. Easy drinking blend, with atypical dark fruit flavors and cherry, along with cocoa and spice. The finish is earthy, and the wine stays with you as you sip. Lovely food wine.

The last Flora Springs Trilogy in my collection. These are so, so good. And so, so balanced. These age forever, but I was concerned about the slightly elevated cork so this one got the knife! A nose of brier patch fruits. Smoky black cherry cola and fig jam. Brambleberry graham cracker. Herbal middle and finish. Medium+ density with lighter tannins and a bit of a black pepper finish but overall quite smooth. This was served with a pulled pork slider and pushed all the buttons for me. Very good red fruit backbone wine. Drink with a 1 hr decant or hold for 10 years.

Retail $85. Big Ass Bottle. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 9% Petit Verdot. Inky dark with a fruity and earthy nose, this wine comes out of the bottle ready to roar. While blackberry and plum dominate the nose, with a little bit of time and coaxing, some spice and wet earth come out as well. The palate has a similar playbook as the fruit is the first impression, but that is rather quickly followed by a high-rise of intrigue with many floors of complexity. While I would never offer that this is my preferred style of wine (it is unapologetically bold), it is particularly well-made and no doubt has a loyal following. Whoa.
Fruity nose with black currants, black plums, blueberries, ripe cherries, light cedar, light earth, vanilla, black pepper, chocolates, coffee and pencil lead.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long skinny legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, coffee, oak, vanilla, vegetables, black pepper, spices, chocolates, dark coffee, herbs, tobacco leaf, leather and earth.
Medium on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Napa Valley. Still young and will benefit from some bottle aging. Has good potential to become a really nice wine.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime. Really nice nose once it opens up.
Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years, however, already drinking nicely and showing nice complexity.
The Malbec seems very dominant at the moment. Spicy and tangy. Fruit forward and tasty.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and olives.
A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 8% Malbec. Aged in mostly French oak barrels for 18 months.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
$85.

Plush, and full bodied, a goodly amount of oak, smoothed out but you still feel the tannins, powerful.

This is a delicious Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.
Full bodied and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco, peppercorn, coffee and mocha.
Long finish with round tannins and cherries.
Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.
Good by itself or with food. A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
