Based on this showing, I think we can very safely conclude that this 17 is not going to shut down and is simply going to be great to drink anytime. While between more hyped vintages (15,19,20,21 etc) this particular Prum has really everything going for it . The acidity is electric, but not overly so, allowing the classic Mosel slate and green apple to strut their stuff. Sweetness seems between a classic Kabinett and Spat, but I think its an asset as to its ability to pair with damn near anything food wise, or just sipping by the pool. Lovely stuff and well priced compared to current vintages post 2019.

This wine has gotten better over 2 years. Pretty nose of lemons and honey. It is off dry but not as noticeably sweet. The acidity is so balanced now. Tasty with panko crusted shrimp and kimchi. It pairs so well with spicy Asian food.

Pale lemon color. Medium aromas of lemon, apple, melon, and perhaps a slight bit of petrol. Off dry, high acidity, low alcohol (9%), light bodied, pronounced flavors of lemon, apple and melon. Medium to long finish, with a slight bit of sweetness (or is that the fruit flavors coming through?. A wonderful wine. Drank over two nights.

Whoa. Intense. Lots of petrol and lemons right out of the gate, followed by floral and gravelly aromas. On the palate, the wine feels rich and the flavors are concentrated and exact. The wine is lightly sweet, balanced by a rush of racy acidity.
This was the perfect wine to pair with every component of our dinner: I marinated shrimp in parsley, garlic, lemon juice and espelette, then grilled it. I also grilled eggplant seasoned with herbes de Provence and roasted corn on the cob

This is just such a glorious expression of Riesling. The nose is pronounced and lively, with honeysuckle, passion flower, apples and pears, apricot, pineapple, fennel seed, toast, and some kerosine. It is medium-dry with greener fruits on the palate than the tropical nose suggests. The acidity is refreshingly high but beautifully balanced with the R.S. There is so much concentration and complexity. It's great.

Lovely. Pale lemon. Med+ intensity. Primary only: blossom, green apple, lemon, pear, apricot, wet stones, flint, honeysuckle, blossom, waxy. Med dry, high acidity. Light/Med body. 9% abv. More lemon, citrus on the palate, less ripe than the nose. Some phenolic grip. Long. VG. Balance sugar/acidity + well defined flavours. Show tipicità of the grape. Could gain more complexity with a bit of age. (Honey, petrol, dried fruit, would develop). Will keep thanks to: acidity/sugar/concentration.

Started off with skunky sponti off-flavours, so I felt the need to decant this wine. Green and yellow apples, minerality, lime, lemon, peach, green herbs and a hint of white peppercorn. Nice wine with great balance - evident acidity and a sweetness that tastes of bruised apples and apple cider. Bear in mind though that this unoaked style needs a decant (or more time in bottle).

Excellent wine, Nice nose of mineral/flint and some yeast with a hint of petrol. On the palate, bright fruit, with pear leading the way. This will only get better and more refined.

Birthday event 2021 (My House): God I love Prum. I usually hold these wines for a while because I believe they drink better with some age, but hard to think it will get much better. This was delicious. Slightly sweet, crisp apple and pear, with jasmine and honeysuckle notes. Not as much Petrol, I expect that to come with age, but just a great example of a young fresh Riesling.

AP 05 18. Usually I agree pretty closely with Fisch and Rayer’s (Mosel Fine Wines) rankings, but I seem to like this one quite a bit more than they did. Acidic, flinty, a bit of old-style Prüm yeastiness, all wrapped in that beautiful 2017 fruit. Accessible, versatile, and quite refreshing. Beautiful wine.

It had some initial petrol notes that eventually dissipated to a more floral nose. It had sufficient acidity to balance the sweetness and tasted great with Indian shrimp masala by offsetting the spiciness of the dish.

Tropical fruit and apple on the palate, with some wet stone and a floral hint on the finish. Nice balance of acidity and sweetness with a slightly effervescent mouthfeel. Has a medium long finish. Tastes very young, which it obviously is. I would expect this to continue to mature for at least the next 10 years.

Tropical fresh fruit on the nose, spritz day one, some soap and mineral water on the mid palate day two, but what balance on the body fat/acidity/sugar - impeccable. This will be even better in 2-3 years. But drinking really well today, accompanying a pizza with crème fraîche potatoes, pear, chèvre, fresh guajillo chili, fresh rosemary.

Decanted 6hrs - and a good reminder to continue this with my younger higher end whites. Youthfully imploded on the nose, leaving it leaning with some sulfuresque orchard fruits and a sensation of sweetness. Somewhat retreated on the palate as well, with the acidity poking out a bit behind some slightly unripe peach and gravelly tones. And yet...this is JJP, elegant and light as air, savory, and very enjoyable with simple Thai take out on Tuesday night. Make no mistake, this is damn good to drink - I think this could be a long ager - I may crack another in 2 to 3 years but then hold (god willing) for 15 to 20 for my last two bottles.

Lemon zest, a hint of dried grass, unripe peach and honey melon. Really complex nose, but this is too young right now. Great balance with acidity and sweetness, not that complex in the mouth compared to the aromas, a bit tarty and green ending. The ending reminds me of sauvignon blanc

Fairly muted nose of petrol, cut grass and green apples. Palate is apple, honeydew melon, petrol and struck match with the finish developing fleshy peach and apricot. Acidity is medium/high. Medium / long finish. Needs time, is a little pointy at the moment. Think will age very well tho.

From Coravin. sulphur, struck match, wet stone, crushed green apple and pear, lime, greener and harder on the nose than the 2016. The acid is a little 'pointy' for me in relation the fruit which is very green apple and pear though still travels long.

Aromas of petroleum and spice on opening. Very reduced, too young. Great acidity. Really savory - a bit of a smoked salmon and paprika quality to it. Some limes, apricots, and white fruit. Not rich - the body is filigreed and elegant - though good concentration. Impeccably balanced.

Quite closed nose with stonefruit, pear and sweet lemon. Really subtle unripe fruit on the palette. To be honest disapointing right now, but am suposed to develop great with time. Will wait a long time before I open the next bottle.

Stricter than the Selbach and not as earthy as the Zilliken but it has aspects of them both. Not a fruit salad like Selbach, more like apple/pear. The acid is good, balance as well and to me the restsugar level is lower than the two aforementioned. Develops during the evening. Think this needs a few years for the aromas to unfurl.

Medium golden. Bright, lively, energetic, and quite expansive. More generous than we recall from the 2016 version. Highly enjoyable, mostly as an aperitif and meted out in small pours over five nights — peaking at around the third.

JJ Prum - 2017 range tasting: White florals, lime, flint and vanilla on the nose with some laundry powder as well. Good power, with tangy acidity that launches through the palate. Really good length and acid/sugar interplay. Wakes up the palate. Really good, shame I could only get a small number of bottles.

9% alcohol. Tasted blind among 46 other 2017 Riesling Kabinetts in Kabinett Cup 2017.
Limpid pale green color. Somwhat stuffy böckser nose with aromas of sponti funk, some mouldy apple, a little bit of chalk dust and a floral hint of apple blossom. The wine is lithe and weightless but also quite neutral and dull on the palate with reticent medium-sweet flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some stony minerality, a little bit of ulfury sponti funk, a hint of chalky bitterness and a touch of white flowers. The wine is moderately high in acidity, but since there fruit is lacking intensity, the sweetness masks some of the acidity, making the wine feel a bit flat. The finish is medium-long with flavors of chalky mineral bitterness, tart lemony citrus fruit, a little bit of mealy red apple and a hint of wet stones. The fruit flavors fade away rather quickly, but the acidity eprsists for a long time.
A rather closed and somewhat foursquare Kabinett that seems to suffer from a case of moderate reduction. The nose feels skunky and the taste is pretty dull, so for the most part you can just taste acidity, minerality and the residual sugar sweetness. However, this is nothing out of ordinary when it comes to JJ Prüm wines that are consumed all too early. In the blind tasting setting, nobody realised this was a Prüm wine and it didn't get a single point from any of the 12 judges - although multiple people commented how the wine seemed to be suffering from being opened all too young and showing great potential for future development. I can imagine this will be a beautiful Kabinett, but one that will take at least another 10-15 years before hitting its apogee.
