  • Yellow golden coloured, without any brown nuances. This is not as viscous as the beerenauslesen and trockenbeerenauslesen of course, though it shows considerable sweetness. But don't mind it's sweet enough to go with a dessert. It's better served on its own or as a dessert or as an aperetif. Apricot and peaches, quince, mango, pineapple. This is very fruit driven, long and lasting. For me clearly outstanding. It is fully mature and more going to loose some of its complexity as to benefit from further cellaring. Nevertheless it is going to hold through some more years. -2022+? But why wait and take a risk?

  • Wow is this good! While I see aging potential I don't know why you would want to wait. Gorgeous fruit, stone, honey and floral notes. Fruits feature apricots, peaches and nectarines. Medium finish and great acidity. Everything that makes German Riesling my favorite white wine in the world for the money.

  • Popped and poured from a regularly-refrigerated split. This is a golden yellow wine that resembles urine in the glass, albeit with a more viscous appearance. On the nose, I get honeycomb, pineapple, and a slight bit of petrol. In the mouth, this is a thick wine, one that is sweet yet fresh, all with a lemony overcoat. The wine leaves a delicious aftereffect in the entire mouth – one reminiscent of just-eaten apricot pie. Overall, this is very nice overall, although it is a tad flabby in the very end of the mouth. I continue to find this to be a unique wine that brings pleasure. 92 points.

  • Popped and poured. This is a heavy gold wine with a color similar to urine. On the nose, there is honey, botrytis, and custard. In the mouth, this is thick and oily yet zippy, carrying flavors of marshmallow. The finish leaves a lasting sweetness with a bit of earthy tang. Overall, this is good, but on the sweeter side -- more of a desert-style wine. Will be fun to watch it evolve. 90 points.

  • Dark gold. Thick texture with honey, apricots, ripe peaches, slate and mango. While this has a sweet palate the acidity is still present and this wine should age 25 plus years. Medium finish. Excellent purchase.

  • Tasted at L'oree des bois with the Gatineau Wine Academy

NOSE: WOW, incredible nose of almonds, honey banana, pear, beautiful and delicate white flowers.....one of the best nose of german wine I've ever tasted.

PALATE: this was the WOTN. Not to sweet...just enough for an Auslese. Honey, banana, roasted almonds, white flowers (marguerite)...truly amazing....subtle sweetness, delicate flower taste and a natural acidity bringing everything into perfect balance. This is truly beautiful right now but can probably age gracefully for another decade.

Its the first and probably the last time (except the last bottle I have in my cellar) that I'll get the chance to taste a Rieslaner. They're very hard to find in Canada.

If you come accross this wine .....buy it !

    Voila !

  • Floral, musky, herby. Ripe peaches, nectarines. Very nice wine for cheese/dessert, though just a bit more acid would push it into the exciting category. B+
