Light red color. On nose, strawberry, tart cherry, pine resin / forest floor and red currants. Medium body with fruit a little sweeter on palate than nose but tart cherry, cherry pit and strawberry. Medium body, low tannins, medium+ acidity and long finish. Got better with air and better on own than with food. 91+/- Not a re-buy for me but enjoyable. This has aged well.

Mid/Pale red with slight amber rim. Soft complex nose of red mature fruit with roast beetroot. The palate is transitioning to tertiary with perfect balance and a steely sweet core/gentle persistence/long finish which belies its medium weight. This is the signature of a great wine - do not be fooled that it is not “heavier”. It would be a beginners mistake to think it was not serious. May get more complex but for my palate I would find it hard to make an argument to wait much longer to drink my remaining bottles though I may be wrong.

Medium body. Still plenty of cranberry and red berry fruit as well as some soft Middle Eastern spices, dried rose petals, saffron and new leather. Lovely acidity washes through the palate leaving just a hint of fine tannin. Should develop further but lovely to drink now

Delightful wine. Still primary moving into secondary, with raspberry, sous bois and sweet fine tannins, a little baking spice. Ripened fruit but without any cola notes. Medium length. Delish.

Spectacular! The Maresh Vineyard produces elegant wines that perhaps don’t get the attention they deserve. We picked this bottle up when we were in Oregon celebrating 33 years of marriage. Steve was kind enough to spoil us with this 2015 vintage. I wish I had cases of this in the cellar.

Less expressive on the nose than the '15 Dundee Hills opened the next day, but so refined and elegant on the palate. Delicate red berry fruit, hint of garrigue, soft mouth feel. Finishes with nice acidity. 93+

Opened, poured into a decanter, and enjoyed. Tasted after a 2018 Williams Selyem Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Ruby garnet color. Nose offers a floral note, with some savory earth and forest floor. Light mouthfeel. Good acidity. Takes some time being open before the fruit opens up. Leans to a more earthy presentation, especially when compared to the WS Pinot. Enjoyable.

Balanced and pleasant right out of the bottle. The Maresh Vineyards is *much* better than the regular Dundee Hills — so glad we discovered this one. Consistently good with spicy food, though alcohol is a little high.

Good, but consumed before its time. Good cherry, but the spiciness that I associate with this wine took a while to come out, and the tannin and acidity were still fairly serious. Good now, but hold if you can.

First time trying an Oregon Pinot, this is definitely a more complex, bodied pinot, with structures of flavor of boldness and density like a cab. However the fruit elegance and finish polish is that still of a classic good pinot noir. This style of Pinot is that guy looking for that mouthfeel density and richness , albeit at the same time wants the elegant subtle Finish of a pinot.

Stupendous Willamette wine right here. Wowsa! So lifted and complex on the nose: kirsch, strawberry, black cherry juice, beef stock, iris, desiccated pine forest, pistachio cream, blood orange... Supple and fruity on the palate, with extraordinary inner perfume of cherries, flowers and nut oils, you would think this is open-knit but then firm and extraordinarily fine tannins kick in late on the long finish, along with myriad fruity, earthy, woodsy, floral, and meaty tones. The balance is on point, but the interplay of diverse and disparate elements -- creamy and tart, supple and grippy, fruity and earthy -- lends seemingly pulsating waves of flavor from start to finish. This is drinking beautifully right now, but it is clear that it is not yet mature. It will develop positively for at least another 5 years, and will hold well beyond that.

Very light, almost salmon hue. Floral notes with hints of ripe red fruit and minerality on the nose. Pomegranate and raspberry are followed by zingy acidity, notes of black tea and orange peel on the back palate. Medium - tannins.

If asked to lead a tour for out of town wine enthusiasts, I would finish with this old school historic winery. The old Red Barn tasting room harkens back to the earlier years of the Oregon wine story, and founder Jim Maresh. This is a true, honest, family operated winery making some of the best wines in the valley produced by the best people you’ll ever meet. Oh, by the way, the 2015 Maresh Vineyard Pinot is stunning!

Popped and poured in Grassl 1855s. Followed over 4 hours.

I decided to sneak a coravin glass of this Dundee Hills Pinot Noir last night. I got tangerine blossoms, fresh tempura, sea breeze, and ground after warm rain on the nose with a hint of dusty strawberry. On the palate I noticed salty, dusty, cherry, with some ripe orange rind. I can't wait to actually open the bottle and give it some air. Probably tomorrow with Easter Sunday Supper. So far an awesome Worden Hill Rd Pinot that shows a side of the grape that can only come from old vines planted in a great spot!

This is not a big show-stopper wine but displays class and elegance, in a balanced and attractive fashion. Enjoyable.

Dark crimson red. Open nose of dark currants and sweet strawberries. Also a nice savoury note, a touch of something peppery or lightly spicy. Good depth of fruit, obviously quite ripe creating a sweet fruited taste. It is very tasty from a primary fruit and balance point of view, although not that much acid, plush but with some distinct character. For my taste it is sweeter than I prefer but that is probably because I am so used to less ripe, more acidic and savoury burgundies.
Rich, velvety smooth Oregon Pinot. Recommend decanting for 45 minutes to an hour to open up the flavor profiles but it is still a nice wine right out of the bottle. Warm fruits, earthy minerals and just a slight hint of lavender on the nose. This wine will continue to improve over the next several years.

PnP. Light ruby in the glass. Red-fruited, savory mushroom and slightly spicy. It's a pretty and delicate nose but not shy. I sense something almost chemical on it which detracts, but if I focus more on the other facets actually I can't pick it up any longer. Light to medium bodied and pretty juicy. Palate has a bit of red raspberry and bright cherry, and also an edge to it. Very primary and pretty tasty.
Update: Getting a lot better with air; thought was fine at first but it's better than that. Really nice.

Dinner at Cafe Istanbul (Chicago, IL): Whoa. Pretty awesome stuff -- classic Oregonian fruit profile on the nose, with some sweet strawberries and plenty of bright red fruit, but there's some nice earthy counterplay here as well. Seductively perfumed, classy, and suave. A different Pinot Noir for Oregon, less about power, more about finesse, and ethereally framed. I found it crazy appealing, and probably would have gone straight to Burgundy, Chambolle-Musigny in particular, if blind.

A&B Oregon tasting (Coopers' Hall, Devonshire Square): Tasting sample. More savoury on the nose. A little tighter at this stage. Dark fruited but quite lithe. More serious and needs a few years. 4.

Seductively perfumed, classy, and suave. A different Pinot Noir for Oregon, less about power, more about finesse, and ethereally framed. I found it crazy appealing, and probably would have gone straight to Burgundy, Chambolle-Musigny in particular, if blind.
