Still very young and with very high acidity at first. After 1-2 hours slow ox and higher temperature the wine starts to open up. I would probably hold for another 2-3 years before this is at its peak.

Lemon peel, apples, nuts, oak. To begin with the wine seemed rather stringent and not so giving, however, the wine got a lot better with air (30-40 minutes in the glass). To me the wine showed masterful balance between oak, acidity and volume. Entering its drinking window now. 2023-2028. 92-93p.

Typique du domaine, un vin de la Côte de Beaune: -empreint de finesse, assez droit qui nous amène parfois sur Chablis -de niveau supérieur, facilement 1er cru L’élevage est présent mais bien dosé. Le vin est très équilibré. Excellent.

Showed better on second day at which point it revealed lime curd, butter, toasted hazelnut. With some air and warmth, tangerine oil and something a almost tropical.
It’s very good… but I can’t help but feel it’s lacking something. A 2020 Sauzet PM resonated a touch more.

Butter floral nose. A bit more of the struck match than the BB served just before it. Palate actually less intense than the BB. The winemaker thought this bottle was a bit closed. 90

Delicious and nicely balanced wine, but seeing the price this is trading for right now, I'd be a hard pass on buying more. There are plenty of more exciting white burg options for less $$ in my opinion.

Out of Magnum and that's probably the right size for a wine this satisfying. This is just flat-out delicious Chardonnay with world-class balance and concentration, and this dry extract and drive that Leflaive shows up and down the range in '17. This has a long runway ahead but it's impossible not to love now.

Rich and balanced with nice acidity, lacks a tiny bit of the depth you get from their 1er cru vineyards, but I thought this was very good and an exceptional village wine.

Young but already highly pleasurable. 17 is really a great white Burg vintage and seems like chez Leflaive this is no exception. Slight matchstick on the nose, lemon oil, quite a chewy palate of real substance and density, great balance and energy. Quite some dynamite for a village Puligny. Well done and long life ahead.

This is brilliant, even at a young age. Gorgeous smoky steeliness on the nose with crème brûlée and yellow apples. It drinks beautiful and harmonious with a weight and presence that is somehow perfectly aligned with an intrinsic lift and energy that just glides across the palate. A profound, stony finish. There’s a ton of room for development but the energy and vibrancy of a wine like this make me happy to have caught it now. Just feeling a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to have this.

Young and restrained but effortlessly elegant wine and a solid and promising 92 although hand on heart this is too young now. Still impressive and good to see the name deliver after the pre mox experiences we had with more than a few grand crus of earlier vintages.

Amazing Puligny village. No problems due to youth. So elegant, intense bouquet on the nose and on the palate of vanilla and pure orchard aromas with a surprising background mineral to balance acidity. Very high aging potential.

A hint of reduction and oak compliments pure orchard fruit aromas. Vibrant with good cut and a chalky mineral underpinning. A top village, ready to drink now, but should reward another year or two rest.

Expressive nose right out of the bottle. Lovely citrus, crushed gravel, floral, buttery notes. Palate was very tight and backwards. No fruit showing through, just acid backbone. Opened up a bit after a couple of hours but still very tight and single noted. I would assume this needs more time, but certainly not showing much at the moment.

Clearly designed to drink now. Ripe, soft and easy going. Almost too much so. This faded on day 2. The Clavoillon is a big step up which more acid and structure. Drink this now and cellar the Clavoillon. Would not buy again even at the discount I received.
