Volcanic Wines of North London (Must & Lees): Made with pre-phylloxera vines. Sensual nose with just a touch of alcohol, inky and floral. Really concentrated, but somehow also supple and with a perfect amount of bright, acidic black cherry to keep things lively and demand another sip. Group #3 tonight.

Volcanic Wines (Must and Lees, N1): Deep red. Sweet and developed, liquorice and cherry, but also old and meaty. Rich red fruit, glorious and delicious. Lots to like in other words. Notes began to run out of steam by this part of the evening but I really rated this at the time.

TWS North London - Volcanic Wines (Must & Lees, N1): This doesn't want to be your friend: leathery, developed nose. Spiced, punchy dark fruit, old leather, ash, maybe bovril or marmite? Overall it's a really savoury profile. The tannins are smooth, it's broad on the palate with a long, bitter finish. There will be dishes which work perfectly with this but right now they're not springing to mind - I found this distinctive and enjoyable, but not for every day...

Beautiful cherry aromas. As other tasters suggest, this is a bit lean and tannic. I would suggest a good example of an "old fashioned" wine. However quite beautiful with Pecorella's food.

Schöne Kirschfrucht. Mittlerer Körper, gute Länge. Sehr trocken, leicht adstringierend. Weitere Lagerung empfehlenswert!

Very earthy, leathery. Balanced, not as fruit forward as other Aglianicos. Better with food, needs some air to shine

Was expecting more from Serpico. A bit lean and austere. Drank over 2 days.
