Tuesday Night (Bin 75): Darker golden green; tart green apple, vanilla from French oak, richer, some honey, green grape, elegant; vanilla, smoke, sweet rich fruit, good tartness to it, clean finish with good acid; good.

Apple tart + pear and coconut this time. Got buried by garlic-heavy artichoke dish, but really shined with lightly fried sand dabs. Good minerality, good acidity... really nice wine from a very underrated region.

Flawed bottle - slightly corked. Golden yellow color. (Though bottle was flawed the scents and flavor came through) Scents of fruit, butter and opulence but is held in check. There is pure vanilla, honey and richness that you expect from Cali but it also has some orange zest, citrus curd, cream and toast. Lacks minerality. Good crowd pleaser and can pair well with seafood.

I like this wine a lot. This time I took it out of the cellar (55 degrees) and poured. Of course it had more fruit forward but the acidity seemed unbalanced high. After it breathed it came around. Also put the rest of the bottle in the fridge and the second glass was still fruit forward but smoother.

Fresh and focused, this medium gold wine exemplifies the allure of Central Coast Chardonnay. Intense aromatics of tropical fruit (especially coconut) immediately reveal the terrroir. These aromas are complemented by orange zest, white flowers and light vanilla. Medium-bodied on the palate, the wine holds up nicely throughout the middle, with flavors which mirror the nose. The alcohol (listed as 13.8%) and oak are very well-integrated and the finish is long, crisp and "tropical." Those who want to embrace the "vive la différence" attitude when comparing California Chardonnay with white Burgundy will want to try this one. Drink now-2016.

'Elegant and thoughtful' is a better way to say 'pretty quiet.' Or rather 'nuanced.' But those thoughts are all coming to mind. Yellow pear aromas. Lemon curd. Not loaded with much oak in the aromas. Those phases tend to come and go. Oak is more apparent on the palate. Orange zest and spice. Nicely put together, but needing of another year or two to soften the palate just a touch. A lovely, more dialed down approach.

25% of all the gallons that they make is wrapped up in this sku. Wood is standing proud right now, just needing some time. Barrel ferment, french wood, medium toast, all native yeast. Powerful stuff, certainly well made. again needing just a touch of time. Works at its price of $25 if not mind blowing.

The wine is light gold in color and quite pretty in the glass. Nose is heavy on melon and peach and white fruits. Mouthfeel is light to medium with bright acidity from the tip of the tongue to mid-palate. Finish is about 15 seconds. This an excellent wine for summer and or casual meals or cheese. I really like it but can't rate higher as it doesn't exhibit a great deal of complexity or long finish like other Chardonnay. Great wine at the price.

For $25.00 a bottle, a very nice and surprisingly crisp, clean and well balanced Chard. Not overdone; with a hint of citrus and minerality, making it very approachable. Nice bottle-! Very enjoyable. Would certainly buy more when avaialble.

"rated by wine access" as the BEST Chardonnay under $25. I like it a lot. It has a good acidic mouth feel vs buttery which I like. Good fruit and a clean finish. Best??? Good... yep.

Highly rated by wine access as the best under $25 Char. I thought it was pretty good, but not the best by any stretch. The fruit was solid and crisp with enough citrus to make it refreshing. The thing I liked most was it was not over done and was "clean".

Bright gold with fruity nose, citrus and a hint of mineral. Brilliantly balanced with mineral and complex flavors. Reminds me of a white burgundy. Crazy good QPR!

Both my wife and I love this vintage of Talley's chard. Just bought another case. After the 2008, this is the best one up to 2013
