Ripe nose of boysenberry and pomegranate juice. Full-bodied, this is moderately tannic with good acid and loads of ripe, exotic fruits and spices. Excellent with both American Chinese food and bbq ribs the next night. Drink now-2027+ 93

Double decant. Concentrated Black and blue fruits. Meaty and floral notes. FULL BODIED richness... A bit on the boozy side. Not the most complex CDP. Very Quaffable and a solid QPR.

Can you believe that Xavier Vignon does not grow his own grapes? He is a consultant for the best vineyards. Focusing on the best estates and growers in the Rhône Valley, he has created a directory of contacts he calls to obtain some of the best fruit (which he helps grow) and produces some of the most exciting wines in the region. Cuvée Anonyme is Xavier's signature wine and one of his first individually crafted wines. From old vines that have been traditionally planted, it has Grenache, Vaccarese, Counoise, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Terret Noir and Muscardin, which are over 100 years old. Each vintage contains a different blend. Here we have equal GSM + Cinsault. Let's go to the core of this wine. 2 hours in the decanter. It could be 3 with no "damage" Very harmonious taste. All aromas are up front, nothing is left behind! That's why it is hard to separate them all. I will try. Cedar, vanilla and red cherry for sure. Minerals too. Herbs and flowers, forest (?). Raspberry and mandarin (?). Marihuana (?)... I'm just kidding, but the smell is simply very addictive. The taste? Well, I'm so happy I can drink high quality wine at an affordable price. First of all balance, second - looong finish. A minute or so. Red cherry, blackberry, blueberry ( so nice). Herbs, something sweet, but I wouldn't say it's chocolate. Raspberry is here too and who knows what else. I don't care. Grainy tannins and perfect acidity. Delicious, intrigue, complicated, but at the same time easy to drink wine. The 2017 vintage in the southern part of the Rhône Valley received 94 points according to the WA Vintage Guide. RP - 97 JD-96 Vinous - 92 ... Eureka! This sweet component is, in my opinion, pralines of milk chocolate, red cherry and vodka. No surprise, because this juice is loaded with 15% ABV

This was full flavored and tasted like a classic Southern Rhone, something most '17s can't claim. Lavender, sandalwood, garrigue, blackberry, burnt sugar. An impressive result for a difficult year.

Xavier Vignon is one of the most remarkable persons in Chateauneuf. As a consultant he is linked to many famous winery’s (Think: La Nerthe, Beaurenard, Mont Redon, Grand Veneur, etc.). He picks his grapes from all around the region and he blends them as the masterblender. Because that is what he is. His Anonymous has every year another blend. This 2017 is of course well balanced, equal parts Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault, with cooked red fruit, blueberry, liquorice, garrigue and pepper in the end.

Bitter, tart and sweet, this has good intensity and balance yet somehow almost no flavor. It's only sweet and savory, fruit and garrigue are just not identifiable. It might improve with time but '17 seems to be a tough year, I've enjoyed hardly any Rhones from this vintage.

Very delicious Chateauneuff du Pape. Dark fruits and vanilla on the nose, dense and intense with present alcohol. On the palate also very densely woven layers of dark fruit, a lot of vanilla, tonka, coffee - paired with some melting. Extremely long, now already very harmonious, even if the very fine tannin is still clearly noticeable. Simply beautiful and good - only the alcohol is currently a bit too present for perfection and complexity and harmony could be even more harmonious.

Just finishing a glass on day three post corkage. Delicous, coming into its own. Day one, began with tremendous sweet dark fruit on the fore palette resolving into darker , slightly tannic spice/game with good depth and a nice finish. Acid is spot on. Day two saw mild muting of the forward fruit and a lengthened mid and late pallet with dark fruit, spice, hints of game and resolution of tannin. Day three shows integration of the above. I wish I had more. Great alone or with beef and even game or stronger cheeses. Really good.

Full-bodied, opulent fruit with good acidity. The tannins are a little drying on the end so this really needs food right now. Certainly has the stuffing to last well into the 2030s.

Well balanced. Enough fruit, good body, medium plus finish.
We bought this from Wine Access. On their bottle label card they characterize the fruit intensity as abundant, oak intensity as spicy, body as opulent, acidity as fresh and tannin as velvety. We agree with the final two, but the first three are all overstated. It's much more understated than this.
Have another bottle. See ya in a couple of years.

Wonderful big lush round fruit and balance - but a damn huge heavy gimmicky 750ml bottle that is not only double the weight of normal (it seems), but also so big that it doesn't fit in standard wine fridges, lockers, boxes, etc. I just won't keep buying these gimmicky packaged wines no matter how good.

Mild bouquet. Most of the flavor and spiciness hits at the back of the palate. Still have a bottle of the 2011 which I think is better.
