Luscious! Allow to open up. Nose of cedar, pepper and deep dark berries with slight hints of vanilla. Incredible with grilled steak and baked potato topped with garlic chives.

Drinking at its peak. Integrated tannins. Raspberry, blueberry and cherry across the full palate. Medium bodied. Medium plus acidity. Fantastic at 6 years old. Drink now-2025.

clean opaque purple ruby dark blue fruit, graphite, violets, fennel medium plus acid high alcohol rich blue fruit, cedar on the palate fine, ripe tannin A concintrated riper zin with beautiful nose and nearly balanced palate Reading the tech sheet, blended with 18% petite syrah which probably contributes to the deep blue bramble and the inky color

Wonderful dark black berry nose, more brood and slight forest funk make it feel almost Mourvèdre than zin. Drinking great now but dark berry and sweet tar oak would be even better in a couple of years. Its both deep and sleek but with a satisfying full body

Decanted 1 hr. Drank over 2 days. Day 2 was as good as, if not better, than day 1. Nice nose of darker fruits. Tastes of lively red & dark fruits. Nice mouthfeel.

Double Blind Wine tasting. This was the WOTD! Super complex. Dark red color. Red fruit, lots of sweetness, and subtle herbs. I thought it could have been Red Burg or Southern Rhone. Got the vintage.

Very tight prior to a decant. Must be that Howell Mountain fruit. Once it relaxes, there’s considerable structure and a colander full of black berries bathed in Asian spices. Muted nose, but a long finish. The tannins are still too forward. But they’re melding. Lots of room for growth here. Drink now to 2027. Worth Seeking Out.

This blended Howell Mountain Zinfandel includes a generous 18% aliquot of Petit Verdot. Opaque crimson and loaded with black fruit, it adds notes of licorice, holiday spice cake, bittersweet chocolate and graphite on both the nose and palate. Full-bodied, freshly acidic and with well integrated alcohol (despite being listed as 15.8%), it coats its flavors with medium-weight, fine-grained tannins and a complementary amount of spicy oak. Dense on the mid-palate and lengthy on the back end, this is another example of why the Cedarman bottlings are typically among my favorites. Although I tend to enjoy the varietal in its youth, there is nothing wrong with cellaring this specimen until its tenth birthday. Drink now-2027.

(Tasting with Friends) Wine of the Night. Its balance, fruit-forward nature, and nose-filling bouquet made this an instant winner of the evening. Glad I put it last in the lineup. Gushing with blackberry jam, blueberries, apricots and lilting oak notes, this took most in the group by surprise because of its focus and balance. Most said it was unlike any Zin they had tasted before. Great Howell Mountain fruit.

Delicious Zin packed with dark fruit, a little pepper and a nice long finish. It is darker in color which coincides with its full body. Well balanced with a touch of earthiness. Really enjoyed it!

Another fruit bomb from Turley - rich, powerful red and black fruit with notes of black and white pepper and savory spice, with moderate tannins on the medium to long finish, with good acidity. This was an average to good value at a little under $50.

I think this is one of my favorite Turley Zins! Full of cherry and blackberry fruit balanced with a little black pepper spice. It’s got a nice long finish and really opens up after an hour. Love it!

This one is excellent as usual. It's the Howell mountain zin at a nicer price point being a blend of fruit from the Dragon and Rattlesnake Ridge vineyards. Has a little petite syrah in there for some bite from the rattlesnake.

As with most Turleys, this was nicely perfumed and textured. Nice bottle, but wish the alcohol was lower. 15.8% is rather high and became distracting.
