Classic Turley, big fruit, low acid and tanin. There is no surprises in this wine and didn’t disappoint. Accompanied a hardy meal of tri-tip and sides; it was a perfect companion.

So I'm drinking these "cult" wines with new world pricing and very much enjoying them. Then I drink a middle-of-the-road Turley that is a little more full throttle but equally good without the fanfare or mark up. Don't know the right answer, but a good first world problem to ponder.

Purple in color. 15.2% ABV. Sublime nose of red fruits, licorice and pepper. Full bodied with medium acidity. Notable balance. Black cherry, cocoa, plums and pepper on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Good Zinfandel that lacks the opulence I expect from Turley. The is ready to drink.

Decanted 30 minutes and left at cellar temp until serving. Wow! Best Turley Zin I've had in a while!! No pruniness, and no intrusive heat. Very complex, spicy nose with blackberry and blueberry notes. Super concentrated and layered palate with more rich black fruits. Fine, sandy tannins with a dash of juicy acidity support a long, layered deep spicy finish. Superb Zin with several years of strong life ahead! 93-94

Drank over 2 days. Didn’t seem to show that well for me. Day 1. Grape juice black pepper, chalky finish not complex. Changed day 2 seemed more depth in flavor with the chalk still there and a bit grippy.

Violets, strawberry, and spices on the nose. Rich red fruits on the palate, hints of cranberry near the long and juicy finish. Tannins already smoothing out. Will improve, hold into mid 2021 at least

Celebrating the 4th of July with some delicious bottles, with this one getting a nod toward the American theme.
This may be the best young Turley Zinfandel I’ve had to date. I needed something to stand up to a grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, and this was a match made in heaven. Freshly grilled plums, squeezed blueberries, black currant jelly, sandalwood, and baking spices on the nose. Ripe on the palate but certainly not overly rich or flabby. Solid acidity and structure. Juicy, yet tannic. Dark fruit preserves, mixed berry pie, hint of fig and cherry infused dark chocolate. Hedonistic now, and will continue to improve for years. Delicious.

Wish this were better, perhaps there was a flaw in the wine. Didn't get the fruit to which I'm accustomed with Turley wines, and the finish was a bit jagged, even after 5 hours (my last glass) in the decanter. I can't definitely say there was something wrong with this bottle, but I'm hoping that's the case as I have another one. ?????

By no means a fruit bomb this was ripe and round with no hard edges. Ready to go and I can’t see any cellaring upside unless your expecting secondary flavors, but why risk losing the bright dark fruits. Very enjoyable. This empty bottle was gone in 30 minutes. Just delicious.

Something in the middle palate turned me off. I just was not a big fan.

Strong acids, very astringent -- high acidity dominated the palate

Great ZIN. Good depth and balance. Nice black cherry that’s not too high with tannins.
