  • Deep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color bordering on opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of black cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, smoky, tar, minerals, spices, herbs & a hint of cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries & plums with herbs, spices, minerals, cocoa & a hint of vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. Although more accessible than Siro Pacenti's other offerings, it still has potential for further development with additional aging.

  • earthy, ripe and complex on the nose, fresh, juicy and delicate in the mouth, with pleasant spice, mature, polished, fine-grained tannins, had it with a delicious T-Bone at Asam-Schlössl, Munich

  • Dark color. Nose of cola and cassis and Framboise; very Cabernet Sauvignon-like. Palate shows a freshness of black/red fruits. There is a very interesting balsamic quality about this I like, today. Perfectly balanced and juicy style of Brunello that has potential to be a real crowd-pleaser, because it really pleases me today. deftly floats across and lingers on your tongue. Hints of pipe tobacco, earth and Asian spices really add to the overall dimension on this. Long and true finish and leaves you wanting...more.

  • Tasted at a Siro Pacenti dinner at Fiorino Ristorante in Summit, NJ. 14.5% labeled ABV, pretty high I thought for such a rainy vintage. Slightly translucent medium to dark garnet color. The nose was slightly muted but showed some vanilla and earthy elements along with some chocolate and repose petals. Low to medium acidity and low tannin. Somewhat flat and flabby but showing some plum and red berry fruit. Very short finish. Fairly easy to drink and certainly a decent effort in a difficult year that I have found few really impressive wines. Pleasant enough with a plate of Pappardelle with Wild Boar Rage.
