I was reticent to open one of these given the notes but this was modestly approachable and will surely improve with age. Tight, tannic a bit astringent but some dark fruit, tar, floral. Nose never really gave much. It did open reasonably over an hour (tannins softened) such that I would open another in a pinch (with sufficient decant time) if nothing else fits the bill. Better than I feared.

Let sit in the decanter and sampled over the course over 3 hours. Never came out of its shell. Faint red fruits and licorice on the nose. Some red fruits, violets and tar on palate I guess but searching for everything. Clearly of the varietal but lacking. I knew I was opening this on the early side but still disappointed in how this performed. If you have this (last of mine) wait.

Good classic Barolo that's too young / in an awkward place. Decanted for ~1hr. Aromatic and expressive - roses, earth, black cherry. Palate is a bit tight and not showing its best just yet - grippy tannins, earth and spice, dark cherry and floral notes but not all totally integrated yet. Should be a great wine in time.

Classic, maybe a bit old-fashioned, but hits all the notes: cherry, black olives, acidity, tannins on the back end. Great for a meal, especially in Magnum format!

Drank in Rome. Awesome old school Barolo here. Straight up. Does not pull any punches. Dark red cherry, a bit of dried raspberry, leather. Good consistency through pallet and solid length!

Rose petals, violet petals, red charry, raspberry, new leather, spice and incense. Definitely old school Barolo. Bold tannins, great acid. Really nice entry-level Barolo that will continue to evolve for the next few years. Pairs best with meat (we did sausages).

Super classic stuff. Firm and bright. Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, blue flowers, leather, licorice, herbs and prunes. Pronounced tannins, fresh acidity, full and grippy texture, long dry finish that one might interpret as verging on austerity. There's a lot going on, so I find generosity in this wine, but I also get that it could be too dry and tart for some palates. It could be entering an awkward middle-aged period. I would decant it for 8+ hours or save it for 5+ years.

PnP in a restaurant. Tight nose and palate opened over the course of dinner to show light floral and red cherry notes on the nose and palate. Light tannins, very good balance and length. Enjoyable now with food (boar ragu for me) but clearly with depth to improve. Next bottle in a few years else a few hour decant. A little vintage heat showed up as well. I need to try the 16s when they appear.

by the quartino. Violet ruby with some translucence. Nose nicely aromatic, some red cherry, hint of animal/wildness. Palate red cherries, iron, some firm tannins on finish, a bit thin.
Still too young I think and hard to judge, could have been in an awkward phase as well, but given the nature of the vintage was surprised by the relative thinness on the palate. Probably just needs more time, and more air. 89 pts with upside

Opened this two days ago and honestly forgot about it. Really opened up in the interim. Classic cherry, stone, iron notes with good tannin and acid structure. A great village Barolo to enjoy over the next decade or so.

Took about 2 hours to open and show dark fruit, spice, dark wet mineral notes, some pretty floral perfume in the background, grippy palate with decent acidity and length

Lighter ruby color. Very nicely perfumed, with notes of sweet red berries, also some darker red berries, violets, rose petals, orange zest, also some mineral notes. It‘s medium bodied, with very good mid-palate persistence and very good freshness with medium-high acidity and also some medium+ tannin that is excellent quality. Very good length. A very seductive, perfumed and classic Barolo that is super appealing.

Nice perfume with balsamic note more prevalent than in the '16. This has sap and breadth above and beyond what I would ask for from a base Barolo. It has good perfume in the mouth, is supple yet structured with excellent clarity and focus. Outstanding, graceful base Barolo.

Drank at the winery, big open nose, power, structure, still a bit young but will be a great wine in a few years with more balance but fruit is there

Nice and a solid entry-level Barolo. Rose, red cherry, raspberry, and slate on the nose. Palate has cherry, blackberry, black tea, and dusty rock.
