Two hour slow ox. Very dark purple with a very narrow rim. Long legs. Lovely nose dominated by black fruit over oak. In the mouth it is very dry and slightly astringent. Dark fruit dominates on the front end and on the finish with unresolved oak inthe middle. Long finish. Impressive and appealing but very young and to my palate overextracted and lacking subtlety. However, it is a very well made wine which will no doubt improve. I would hold.

Beautiful bouquet with dark berries and some smoke. On the palate the same impressions, beautifully fresh acidity and a good dose of oak. Beautiful wine in its very early maturity stage. 92 - 93

Appearance: Deep ruby with purple hues. Nose: Pronounced aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, vanilla, clove, and toast. Palate: Dry with high acidity, high tannins, full body, and flavors of black fruits, cedar, tobacco, and licorice. The wine has a long finish with a hint of bitter chocolate. Quality: The wine is of high quality, with a complex flavor profile, good balance, and a long finish. This wine is approachable now, but has the potential to age for another 5-10 years.

Dark berries, cherries, tobacco and beautiful oak in the bouquet. Same on the palate, sweet spices, beautiful and juicy acidity and round tannin with a pleasant bite. Beautiful wine with a good future. 92+

Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, sweet spices, licorice and well dosed oak. On the palate the same impressions, everything is beautifully integrated. There is good acidity and the tannin has a good bite, but the wine is already a great pleasure. A slight touch of sweetness and a great length. Really delicious wine with a good future.

Black in the glass. Vanilla, blackberry, cinnamon, black cherry on nose. Palate had similar flavor profile. Full body, medium+ tannins, medium acidity and long finish. 92-93+

The color is incredibly dark. More deep purple than ruby even. Initially this was showing a bit too hot but it softened up quite a bit on day 2. Still possibly not for those sensitive to high abv. The nose is soft with flowers and dark berries. The palate is plumb, blackberry, black cherry, cola, licorice and a strong wave of vanilla late. Much more approachable than I expected this young, but still has plenty of time to grow. A bit modernistic, which is generally not my preference, but this is an excellent wine and for me a great way to vary things from the more traditional. Drink now-2028

Not the best Aalto but after a few hours of air it does develop into a fine RdD. Almost opaque, very nice nose with excellent balance of tannins & acid.

Deep ruby purple color turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose gives off a high octane whiff of dark red fruit with hints smoky, balsamic, leathery character brought by the toasted oak. The palate is medium to full bodied with a round, fruit forward display of dark cherry, plum, and kirsch notes with enough medium plus acidity that keeps things Old World, albeit a modern take on Tempranillo. There are secondary flavors of cola, dark chocolate, bay leaf and cinnamon on toasted oak that lead to a long, velvety finish. Drink now until 2032.

Brooding, dark, complex, very long and layered. Black fruit, cherry jam, sweet licorice, leather, bay leave with vanilla and oak on the nose. Bold mouthfeel, big wine yet balanced and not overpowering. Very good.

Vibrant clear purple. Nose is restrained American oak compared with the earlier years from this producer with a hint of black fruit. Palate is turbo charged black cherry with fine grained tannin. This will keep for 10+ years but is readily approachable now. Big wine as ever - this is a very good vintage.

Dark garnet almost purple. Currants and sweet licorice dominate the nose. On the palate the wine is clean with pure fruit and vanilla from the new oak engulf it ending in some lactic notes. Medium glycerin finish.

KUSTJAGER below summarises it neatly. I surprised at the amount of mint and vanilla so perhaps not quite as well integrated now as 2016 was at same stage. Might we worth holding on to a couple for 10 years, but great now

Ruby in color. Delightful herbal nose. Blackberry, cedar and licorice. Sassy tannins. Will improve a lot over the next decade. Nice modern very well crafted Ribera del Duero. This can easily be a 95-96 with aging.

The apperience was of a deep purple color with purple reflexes. On the nose the wine offered a flawless pronounced intensity of primary aromas of Dried Blueberries, Cherry with a hint of Jamminess. Secondary aromas of Charred wood, Leather and Cedar wood. On the palate the sweetness was dry with a medium(+) acidity and high levels of tannin. The perception of alcohol was high and warming. The body of the wine was full with primary aromas of Dried Blueberries, Cherry with a hint of Jamminess. Secondary aromas of Charred wood, Leather and Cedar wood. With hints of tertiary aromas of tabacco... the finish was medium in length. A 100% great Ribera del Duero wine!

Deep purple colour. Nose: A wonderful bomb of red fruits witt notes of violet and liquorice. This is a truly complex nose that I am not able toto decodes further (except to say that I sense red cherry). But it is a true pleasure and even more! 92
Taste: Fruit forward, medium bodied, medium tannins, very ice length. A true pleasure to taste as it has a pleasantly enveloping effect. 92
This wine is drinking perfectly now can mbe keep for a year or two but I Am not sure how it will improve or loose out over time! Given the the rather low tannins this can be drunk as a stand alone wine for those who like this style and without doubt will be more than a cloud pleaser with food! You will surely have wows going around the table. An excellent QPR. Haven't had this much pleasure in while which explains my 93 which is about (92+92)/2.

This Ribera del Duero keeps perfectly the balance. Yes, it is black and bold. There is cherries and vanilla. But there is also a wonderful freshness and minerality playing aginst the heavy weight. The tannnis are fine and well integrated. Drinks already very well. But can pe put in the cellar for some years.

Enjoyed at Barrill de Las Lotras in Madrid, ES (great restaurant near the Westin Palace).
Didn't take notes. Dark black/purple color - full body, fruit primary (blueberry, blackberry, black licorice) with good structure and a long finish. 93+
Just bought 6 bottles. Should age well. Much nicer than a Mauro Ribera tasted alongside ('17) that was just not ready.

Had at winery tasting from 375ml bottle. In bottle only a week, we are the 2nd visitors to try the 2017 vintage. 100% tempranillo. Medium density. Sweet red cherry, violet, and tar. Taste is fresh, clean, ripe red fruits and sugar. Fine oak structure, well balanced.
