  • Once again a very fine wine that more than lives up to its ranking as a cru grand bourgeois exceptionnel. Almost 90 points and a tremendous QPR!

  • Dark red. Modern style. Coffee, fruit, berries from the start. Ripe tannins, full bodied. Low acidity. Maybe a bit too juicy. Nice. Drank with Pabl who had enjoyed the 2009 vintage on his Vienna Nice Alps traverse.

  • Dark. Modern style. Very fruity. Gets a bit more complex with time with some coffee. Very juicy at first but also with some structure. Will be liked by many people.

  • The melange of flowers, spice-box, cherries, wet earth and cocoa smells just great. On the palate, things get even better with all the sweet, fresh, energetic, juicy, ripe, soft, textured, red fruits, spice and herbs in the finish. One of the few Bordeaux produced using all 5 allowable grape varieties, the wine was made blending 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Carmenere.

  • Bordeaux 2018 from bottle (Bordeaux and Strasbourg): One of the top among the Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel wines tasted non-blind in Strasbourg, with subtle floral and ripe red and dark fruit aromas. Extra care for superb selection both in the vineyard and in the vat room: important in 2018. The nearly 20% Petit Verdot lends spice and structure, 54% Merlot succulence, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon more structure and body. There is 1% Carmenere, but I will not pretend to detect it J. What I like about this wine is classicism in a rich hot vintage, coming from the southern Médoc to boot, just near the Margaux appellation. The balance at close to 13.5% alcohol is agreeably fresh for the vintage, but the wine also has density and fine length, with pleasing, Indian Tonic like bitterness. Tasted over several days, and it really shines! Full notes in wine-chronicles.com

  • Bordeaux 2018 from barrel: some selections (Bordeaux): Just next to the famous Château Giscours of the Margaux appellation, this wine proved lovely for the vintage, with robust opulence but freshness on the nose as well, nicely balanced. There is ripe Cabernet (48% of the blend) but also loads of expressive Petit Verdot (20%) with the Merlot at 32% lending some smooth tannin. Good mid palate sap here. 91-93+

  • Floral, polished, sweet and spicy, the wine is elegant, juicy, medium-bodied and lusty on the palate. One of the few Bordeaux produced using all 5 allowable grape varieties, the wine was made blending 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Carmenere. 90-92 Pts
