Dark ruby color. Nose of dark cherries. Medium acidity, chocolate notes, licorice, but mostly cherries and bramble. Some tomato vines, chalky tannins, moderately oaky ending. Young, fruit-forward Oreno that is quite enjoyable already. Fresh - a sign of the vintage - so I would not cellar this for long but enjoy it now.

Jolie finale suave. 91+

I give this rating for its potential, not current state. Tannins are still too intens, not nicely built into the structure. The nose is too muted, but on palate long finish, shows potential. Next bottle in 2-3 years, earliest.

Ouvert et bu durant +3 heures. Robe grenat moyen.

Excellent.

Deep, dark reddish-purple; essentially opaque in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of earthy/dusty & dark cocoa notes, floral notes of violets, spices, herbs, anise, minerals, some vanilla & a hint of cedar. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with dark cocoa, spices, earthy, minerals, herbs, vanilla & a hint of toasty oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing but definitely needs & will benefit from additional time to develop to its full potential at which time it may rate higher. An indicative blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Petit Verdot.

A good Merlot-blend, but definitely not a great QPR. The complexity is there, but it’s also unbalanced with some bitterness on the finish. Good tannic structure and fresh You get some plum aromas (that I’m not a huge fan of) and you can feel the heat from the 2017 vintage. Good, but won’t buy more.

Merlot, Cab S, Petite Verdot. Big nose and bigger palate of lush cherry, oak, licorice. Quite tight, but shows the intensity, concentration, and potential to be outstanding in 5-10 years. 92-94

Came to life on the second night — and that was after a substantial amount of decanting on the first. Must have caught it in a muted phase after the initial burst of air, because on night two the fruit and savory notes created some nice interplay and the finish lengthened.

Double-decanted 2-3 hours and drank over 2 days. Very good wine with primary notes of fruits (cassis, dark berries) and spices. Medium bodied with smooth tannins. The style of this Tuscan red is very international. The Cuvee is 50% Merlot, 40% Cab. Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. Very good wine at this young age. I am curious if it improves after some years.

Rather young and with the structure to cellar for at least a decade. Super deep and full bodied wine with blackcurrent up front. Layers of leather and sweet Tobacco followed up by a firm and solid mineralish long finish. Something here to wait for. Next bottle in 2-3 years from now - if I can wait...

Decanted for three hours. Typical of Oreno, this does not offer much at such a young age - and almost seems jammy, with a little heat. However, after enough hours it shows glorious fruit and attractiveness. There’s traction and velvety tannins, along with a lavish middle. Cassis, currant bush, cedar, salumi and dark cherry. Very Napa Valley, with a Tuscan angle. The finish glides. Drink 2022 - 2034.

Opened to breathe 1-2h. Plenty of oak on the nose and palate. Alcohol and some baking spices also come through on the nose. The palate is medium bodied bright red fruit and rhubarb, mouth coating tannins, and black pepper in the nice acid finish. Nicely done Tuscan red, but way overpriced in my book. 88/90

Clear medium ruby with big colourful legs; clean medium nose of toast, jammy plums/cassis/red cherries and tobacco; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa; medium finish; definitely improved after decanting but still came across as weak and thin; I know we drank it much too young, but I’m not sure that it has the structure to improve materially; disappointing for the price point

Suckling's Great Wines of Italy (Loews Hotel - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Ripe black fruit, spice on nose and palate coming across as very rich and modern. Lots here, slightly awkward today, needing a year or two to integrate. Better today vs when tasted late last year.

Gordon's Festa d'Italia (Artists for Humanity Center - Boston MA): Walk around tasting. Very pretty nose with ripe black fruit, spice and floral character, perhaps more than its fair share driven by oak, but still enchanting. Rich black-fruited flavor profile to start, then slightly hollow in the middle, finishes rich again. Give a few years to integrate, but I'd be optimistic, even if not a buyer at its price.
