Probably too young, but this wine is delicious now. Deep ruby color with an almost black core. INtense nose of sweet blackberries, blueberries, and dark plums with a hint of rasiny tones (a bit "cooked" fruit). Full bodied and smooth attack in the first part, expands on the mid palate where sweet blackberries and plums as accompagnied with fine, but rather dry tannins. The aftetaste includes spicy tones of vanilla, black pepper and provencal herbs in addiiton to the sweet fruit. Long and very concentrated. As always an impressive wine from this estate, but I think this vintage was a bit too marked by warm tones in the fruit (raisins) and somewhat dry tannins. Maybe the tannins will melt over the years, but what about the somewhat "cooked" fruit? That is a tone that usually gets accentuated with time. We'll just have to survive some more years to see.

Senteur de tabac et de fruits noir. Aussitôt dans la bouche, nous avons l'impression qu'il sera puissant, mais c'est tout le contraire, très doux avec une longue finale. Encore très jeune mais il sera incroyable dans plus de 5 ans.

Fresh and vibrant. I thought everything was nicely in balance even at this young age - especially 2 or so hours in. Certainly hold if you can, but fun to try young as well.

Drunk with a carre of lamb in good company, so the tasting note is just an impression. This is a spicy, fruity and surprisingly elegant ("only" 14,5% alcohol), but still extremely concentrated. the wine is smooth, the tannins are rounded, very fine acidity, and still full bodied. Still too young, but what a treat to drink with hearty food right now. Keep for five more years, and drink for two decades after that.

Decanted 2 hours before drinking in a wide bottomed carafe. Amazingly transparent color for this wine: clear ruby all the way, very young. The nose is also very young and fruity: cherry and raspberry dominates. Underneath there are fine spicy tones of pepper, leather and chocolate. Sweet impression, but totally without any alcohol. Full bodied and smooth attack on the palate, sweet cherry and raspberry fruit at first. Then a very fine acidity kicks in on the mid palate, lifting the wine to another level. Smooth, but good tannic grip on the finish keeps the wine from getting cloying. Long and very fresh aftertaste where the peppery and spicy tones linger together with the sweet fruit. An extremely elegant version of this wine, almost reminiscent of a Burgundy PN from a hot vintage. This is to young and will gain much complexity over the next decade or so. Maybe this will earn a score of at least 95 in five years.

Fairly deep ruby. Dark florals and grassy nose. Tannins still chewy, whilst with vibrant acids, and ripe black plum flavours, but otherwise rather linear. Finish was no doubt long, but I felt it's not a wine that was ready

EXCELLENT.

Clear medium ruby; clean medium plus nose of barnyard, dust, wood, strawberry, black cherry and cassis; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; high alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of sour note, cassis and black licorice; long finish; drink in a couple years - just a baby now

Latest vintage perhaps Beau. Slightly concerned by the wet top of the cork. Appeared to be a slight imperfection along one side. Perhaps just as well I popped this one first. Colour is good: black cherry through and through. Nice mix of lifted black and red fruits on the nose with fresh garrigue (mostly bay), saddle leather, warm stone dust and a vague underlying earthiness or meatiness. Quite typical for a young Beau. Flavours of cedar, dark red and black fruits, garrigue and even some graphite. Medium-full bodied, lots of fruit and wood, and both the tannins and alcohol are somewhat elevated. Long, dry, tannic and powerfully fruited finish. All the components seem to be in balance - just nowhere near integrated yet. Seems built for the long haul! Superb! A mere 93 points right now with lots of upside but wait at least another 5 years!

Opaque purple/ruby colour. Saturated blackberry, plum, Christmas cake, and sweet spice nose. Ripe and focused palate; full and elegant with precise tannins and good acidity to support; good, youthful finish. 4.5/5 *seems like the best Beaucastels are from vintages that end in an 8

One of the best young Beaucastel I’ve tasted. It is all there and already sooo enjoyable! Some decant needed but that’s all.A fabulous wine for many years

Very young. An open bottle of wine in our house seldom lasts 3 days but after an initial glass we wanted to see how this would evolve over time. Day 1 was tight, almost muted, and not enjoyable. Day 2 much better. By day 3 the wine was singing. This is going to be great but really needs time. Will revisit these in 5 years.

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Rich nose of black berries, blue berries, dried plums and spice box. Flavors of black raspberries, black berries and black cherries. Medium to tangy acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or continue to hold.

A Mourvèdre-heavy nose shows kirsch, blueberry, and smoked meat. Medium-full body with chewy tannins and a plum & spice-driven palate that finishes with an appealing spice cake quality. Aside from the tannic structure this offers early accessibility but should age well and find better balance with time.

Fresh ripe berry, mineral, with mocha flavors. Fruit filled, fresh and overly easy drinking right now, with no end in sight. Almost too easy. Great balance, avoids any overripe raisinated flavors.

Showed well tonight and was quite pleasurable even at this early stage, nose had some plum, cherry, raspberry and spices, palate was delightful with ripe yet smooth integrated tannins, medium acidity, generous fruit and a long finish, should enjoy a long life

You can taste and feel the intensity from the low yields here. At its core you find layers of earth, garrigue and peppery kirsch, black raspberry, cherry and spicy red plums. Richly textured with soft, silky tannins and a finish that resonates with spice box, kirsch, dark red berries and olives, this is going to offer great drinking early, yet should last for at least 2 decades.

Bought 6, decided to try one since I prefer Beaucastel young. Day 1 this was fully closed. Opened up after a night in the fridge and then it showed well. Give it at least six months before you try. If you have to open now, try a 2-3 hr decant.

Decanted for three hours. Dried raspberry, furikake, river rock, granite, cherry wood and blueberries. Fresh and alive, with meridians of depth and a well-framed structure, which demands a decant. This reminds me of a hypothetical blend of the ‘04, ‘07 and ‘95. Classic and quite young, with that stunning pedigree. Of course this will age very well. Quite primal. Quite enjoyable. Very fine tannins. Drink 2024 -.
