Couldn’t keep out hands off this stuff. Excellent zin covers all the bases spicy, black raspberry, some leather. Not a fruit bomb great balance and finish.

Elegant and refined. Somehow clean and pure tasting. This is a dry wine. Nose is tobacco and dust. Dark fruit and tannins here. Can go longer but man this is hitting hard in the ‘24.

Consistent with previous notes: an excellent Zin, very restrained, austere, tannic and well structured like a Bordeaux. The fruit is present but in the background: feels very old world. Got another 6 bottles. Excellent.

Mainly picked to pair with some Stilton with blueberries after the meal, it worked well with the steak 'n' potato as well. Very fruity and not overly alcoholic. Alexander Valley's cooler climate paid off for sure.

Fruity nose that varies between black plummy fruit and crunchier red fruit. Vanilla oak and clay.
Medium bodied and red-fruited. Minerality and slight heat. Powdery tannin. A bit more zinfandel-derived plummy fruit than Mazzoni Ranch. Also a slight meaty tomato aspect.
Finishes a bit hot and very stony. Remnants of black fruit.
This had an odd volatile greenish note on first opening that blew off after a few hours of open bottle. Crisis averted!

80% Zin, 20% Carignane. Beautiful complexity, earthy, jammy Zin fruit is there but has a bit more restraint because of the old vines, and the Carignane brings fantastic bright acidity and more lifted red fruit notes. This is a great Zin blend, highly recommended.

Crimson in color. 14.6% ABV. 80% Zinfandel and 20% Carignane from a vineyard situated in Alexander Valley. Gorgeous nose of red fruit, baking spices and citrus. Medium body with medium acidity. Really elegant with rich, refined fruits. Black cherry, salmonberry, plums and earth on the palate. The finish is long and supple. 2018 was a banner year for Zinfandel and your getting another chance to add more to your cellar. Best over the next 3-4 years.

Excellent Zinfandel—pleasant fruity nose, very concentrated red fruit on the palate but with very nice structure and balance. One of the nicest Zins we have had—halfway between a US and European wine. Would love to get more of this. Had with Persian meat and salmon kebabs and rice with Shinobu.

Very forwardly fruity for this bottling. Its really showing the big 2018 vintage that way. Nicely balanced with slightly tart Carignan acidity. I enjoyed this over three nights. On the third night it was a touch more subdued but also slightly sweeter and more floral. Yet, still quite fresh. The fruit is very primary for a little over four years past picking. I wouldn't age this vintage long. Enjoy that pretty fruit while its primary. This bottling usually seems like an underachiever for its source. This vintage flips that script around a bit.

My previous note captures this. Lush and friendly. Well liked across a mixed crowd. One of the best Buchignani Zin blends I've had.
