I don't have much experience with white Bordeaux (with age or otherwise), but really enjoyed this. Nice golden color and mature aromas. Reminded me a bit of white CDP. In a good drinking window.

Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.
As suggested by my score, I enjoyed this bottle very much. I can understand why some found it oxidized or flabby. In my experience, this is the style of LHB. A bit richer and fuller in the mouth than other white Bdx. Moreover, I will let my remaining bottle sit for a few more years.

Sorry but this is my first tasting note so excuse its brevity. This wine still has something to offer. Disintegrating cork worried me but the wine bears scrutiny. Strong straw colour but good nose and nutty - which I like!
Popped and poured into a decanter after dealing with a badly disintegrated cork. I was not expecting much, given the poor showing of my previous bottle. This one, though, was a glorious white Bordeaux. A promising floral nose; medium-body in weight. Quince, bananas, mango. Medium-long finish. Very enjoyable. Paired with seafood appetizers; it didn't last until the rib-eyes were ready, but this would have been fine with grilled beef.

Not quite flawed, but somewhat oxidized and with a crumbly cork. Used some for cooking, with reservations; would not serve to company. Not very drinkable, and I'm not optimistic about my remaining bottle: what I'm getting through the oxidation makes me think there's not much there to like, and for way too high a tariff. I'll try the remaining bottle soon...

Expressive nose - honeyed fruit, toffee, caramel notes, floral. On the palate rich and waxy, a bit heavy. Could do with a bit more acidity. Mineral, not too much fruit on the palate. Quite high in alcohol. Persistent finish. Drink up. 88-90

Big and rich on the nose: notes of caramel, honey, hints of coconut, slightly spicy, creamy. Intriguing. On the palate equally rich and big, a bit one dimensional with a hot finish.

Deep yellow/golden in colour, glowing. On the nose complex and rich, ripe fruit, honey, resin, cream, toffee, a hint of coconut, spices. On the palate round, rich and slightly heavy, not too much acidity, creamy and big with a very persistent, but slightly hot finish. Clearly not a lightweight. Drink up. 87-88

gold color. aromatically loads of nutty lanolin, vanilla, some citrus aromas. on the palate dry, moderate to low acidity, very fleshy midpalate, low alcohol. wine is balanced, has good length, excellent intensity, good complexity. not a ton of finesse, wine has kind of a fat texture, ok expression of place. there is quality here but i think the argument could be made it is past it’s prime and could use more freshness... i didn't particularly enjoy it. drink up.

Rikt. Lukter mye.

Mediocre. The fruit comes across as heavy and overripe, mostly in the tropical spectrum with some butterscotch-like elements and a liberal amount of oak that is just barely tolerable at first and becomes increasingly unpleasant with air.

Merlot-based wines and Sauvignon Blanc at Lola (Lola, Dallas): non-blind bonus pour from Craig 2 - open four days - Bright nose shows touch of grass and cereal with some underlying fruit. Ripe fruit on the palate. The palate is rather dilute and watery, but overall this is open for business and creamy. Pretty nice for being open four days.

Linking With Bordeaux (Wine Exchange - Orange, CA): Deep yellow gold color. Superb freshness on the nose with notes of citrus, minerals, and spices. This wine has a slightly bitter tone but the palate has ample acidity to support the honeyed tropical flavors through the long finish. I think the red is a better value in this vintage but you can’t go wrong with either.

BORDEAUX 2005 / Graves reds and whites tasted in 2006 (Bordeaux): Mineral and pear aromas and flavors, and the palate is also a bit peachy! Peachy keen, if just a tad cloying... Still, a nice pleasant white with full bodied feel and sure to please some palates! 87-90

Tragically, this bottle was barely drinkable.
I do not mind a little age on my white Bordeaux, but this one was over the hill.
I have two more. I hope they will be better.

Clearly over the hill. Oxidized and hence no score given. Was suppose to be the red of this wine but one bottle of white was in my order.

Yellow colour, very healthy look for a 14 year old white
Aromas of flowers, the Sauvignon Blanc character is unmistakeable. Some oak/vanilla, but this is now well integrated in the wine.
Quite fullbodied, with a velvetly texture, still some freshness. No oxidative elements at all.
An excellent sample of how great a White Bordeaux can be!
