  • Final bottle from a six pack consumed over the last couple of years. This is showing a little bit of development with just a touch of leather coming through the fruit, but remains pretty fresh and well defined. Still drinking very well and should age nicely for a few more years. Remains excellent value.

  • This was really great for the price. Super funky, very barnyard, nice fruit, good acid. Really nice with food, well balanced. Got this at Costco. Will definitely keep an eye out for it.

  • After one glass consumption of Barefoot Merlot I had to take a break.

2 words about this wine - elegant and classy.
Elegant loads of aromas of black berry, black cherry and tabacco are here but also subtle and nice smell of flowers and minerals.
Classy taste of blackberry and black cherry but also blueberry.
An acidity and tannis perfectly balance the taste.
Nice finish ( medium long) with coca and hint of carmel ( tannins - very soft and shiny)
    Where is spice?
I don't know and I miss this component here.
    Anyway great QPR.

  • Hard to say more than what has been said below. This is very good, and extraordinary at this price point. Blue and black fruits, bacon fat and smoke, sweet spice and licorice, with a sweet (but not cloying) round finish. (Read Nostrabacchus and Micklethepickle - they've got this right). American wine makers get close with just about every other varietal, but can't touch this. And at this price, why look anywhere else?

  • Very smooth and balanced; not much tannins, a bit jammy

  • Immediately enjoyed the funk on the nose. Great smell of fungus and meats and funk.
Palate revealed depths of darkness into the earth with round flavors of cakes with touches of sweet and earthenness.

Over and over Syrah hits what I love.
    Great value at $25.

After a few minutes of air there was a steely dry nose of crushed rocks, a hallmark of Crozes that makes me want to keep buying these. Palate of similar except with a spice cake taste rendering this quite unique.

  • Pretty deep purple color. Surprisingly accessible, with notes of blue and black fruit, some smoke, bacon fat, also a touch of violets, dark minerality, some crushed rock, also some sweet spices and a touch of licorice. It‘s medium-full bodied, with excellent mid-palate persistence, medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin that will probably need another year or two to integrate a little. Pretty long finish. A very pretty and perfumed Crozes-Hermitage that is a great value in Northern Rhône Syrah.

  • Popped and poured, and oh my lord, perhaps the best Crozes I have ever had; this is downright gorgeous! This is a fabulous deep, rich, dark purple. Nose just filled with blueberries, smoke and charcoal. Hard to believe it is so lovely already. Every bit as lovely in the mouth, yes it has tannins, but they are round and ripe, and the deep fruit comes through easily. Excellent finish tops it off. What a great value! You could age this, but why? Can it really get better? It is so approachable and pretty right now, there is no reason to delay gratification. This is hedonism at its best! 5-14-17-9: 95/100.

  • 100pc Syrah from vines 25-60 years old, but a producer founded in 2001. At least some of the blend sees up to 18 months in small oak, some “demi-muids”. Very vibrant dark purple. Boisterous almost extravagant nose with bright purple fruit, dark plum, violets, vanilla and a jubey, purple lolly like character. Ripe purple fruits dominate the palate opening, followed by fleshy tannins. At the €18/bottle I paid this represents exceptional value.
