Nice but still too young. Needs another year or probably more. Good vareital flaovr; some green pepper, other vegetal notes. Tannin not over powering but definitely there. But too "green" overall

Still too young; will wait on other bottles. That said, it was fine with meatloaf. Tannins are present but not the issue; the green nature of the vegetal notes is OK on the palate but they prevent the fruit (noticeable on the nose) from showing up. Plenty of structure; will definitely age well.

Served to friends with burgers: perfect match. Wine is still maturing but now quite drinkable: bright red color and fruit with nice structure under it; some vegetal notes but subtle, fruit is dominant. Should get better for quite a while.

Still maturing but this is now a very drinkable and pleasant CF. Tannins are well controlled, bright red fruit with notes of green pepper and a hint of forest/mushroom. Perfect with a burger or similar.

Young but very impressive. Tannins are present but not overpowering at all. More red fruit and less green/bell pepper than expected. Perfect with a burger or similar food but surprisingly good to sip by itself. I figure it will get better for a long time.

Still young but very drinkable; quite complex for a young CF. Doesn't have the overpowering green pepper of many CFs; more complexity with dark and red fruit notes on top of the vegetal ones. Perfect now with a hamburger.

A young, fairly vibrant example of cab franc from one of the top Finger Lakes producers. There are nice red fruits and various herbal notes - not the green pepper you might have expected though - more like tomato leaf and rosemary.

Still very young but fine to drink, esp. with a burger, like we did tonight. Nice earthy nose but complex vegetal notes, not as much green pepper as I recall from earlier bottles. Palate shows tannin but well integrated and not an issue with food. Light to medium body with nice fruit and vegetal notes. Seems like it should only improve with time.

Retail $22. 100% Cabernet Franc. DIAM10. When I lived in Philadelphia, I quickly learned that hybrid grapes (such as Chambourcin), engineered to endure the sometimes brutal Pennsylvania winters were, for the most part, an abomination. Sure, there were (and are, I imagine) supporters of these varieties that often taste like, well, ass, but it seems as though winemakers in the Commonwealth are gradually realizing that along with modern viticultural and winemaking techniques varieties such as Cabernet Franc are a much more palatable path. While not in PA, Ravines shows with this wine that Cabernet Franc (with a bit of assistance) can withstand the even harsher Finger Lakes winters in New York State. Perhaps lighter in color than the average CF, this is still rich and full on the nose with red berry fruit, rose petal, black pepper, and just the slightest hints of green pepper and sage (which, I feel, *should* be a characteristic of the variety). Whoa. On the palate, particularly after some time open, this is fantastic with rich fruit, lip-smacking tanginess, a touch of earth, and just a boatload of verve. Sure is not very opulent, but holy Christmas this is delicious.
Still very young but quite drinkable. Class CF green pepper nose and on the palate along with plenty of tannin. Holds up well with robust food: e.g. sausage. Needs time to mellow out.

Bought at the winery’s Keuka tasting room. Light garnet color, berry nose. Sweet raspberry fruit, but little on the back end. Tannic structure feels underdeveloped a bit. Not a bad wine, but it’s not impressing me today. Perhaps as the vines get older, future vintages will develop more complexity.

Update from my earlier note, this is still building the fruit. The nose was a little subdued, but had nice pyrazine character plus red fruit/berry and baking spice. More plum and blackberry on the palate, but still good acid/tannin to give it the cab franc character. Getting better, we'll see where another year takes it.

While obviously young, this is a very nice CF: classic CF nose, light to medium body, clear tannins but very controlled. Great with lots of food including robust flavors (e.g. sausage); paired very well with hamburger even with dijon mustard and pickles on it. Definite green pepper and earthy notes but plenty of red fruit as well.

Still very young but great with spicy ribs. Lots of green pepper and red fruit on the nose and palate. Tannins are noticeable but not disagreeable at all; quite a feat! Should age really well but drinks just fine now!

Had at Watkins Glen with BBQ, after several other red and white wines. Sophistication got lost but classic CF and it held up well with the strong flavors. PnP which isn't the best way to enjoy this!

Very young. Some raspberry on the nose, but mostly it’s tomato leaf and pomodoro sauce. This was also served a bit on the warm side so maybe I am missing some fruit.
On the palate, the fruit comes through more strongly. Still mostly rapsberry, with a hint of darker fruit. Acid is pretty strong, tannins are light. Easy drinking and very pleasant, but not too complex.

Fresh, juicy red fruits, a bit of tomato leaf. Medium acid, rustic light tannins, like a Loire vin de Table. Was hoping it would flesh out or gain nuance on day 2; sadly, it did not.

Very, very young but surprisingly drinkable. Nose opens after a while in the glass: bright red fruit with hints of bramble. Palate has plenty of tannins but balanced by some fruit and vegetable notes; definitely some green pepper. Paired very well with food. Should age very well.

Enjoyed very much. Drinking great. Perfect amount of tannins. Dark, fruity Cabernet Franc. Great to drink now or has a few more years left in bottle.

Ripe fruits in the bouquet and on the palate, but not enough fresh acidity and bite. Not my style.

Carefree, immature nose of acai and fruit punch. Red fruit punch atmosphere, a bit flat and unbalanced. A slight hint of black pepper on the finish.
