Cork was dry and crumbled. Decanted for 30 minutes. Crushed stone and flowers on the nose. Blackberries and licorice flavors. Still slightly tannic and a bit sour and thin, but drinkable. Didn't love it, but I probably waited too long.

Properly cellar stored on side yet cork dry & crumbled, but wine was very good, still super dark purple, fruity & smooth. Aged, soft blueberries, a bit of mint, earth & minerals. Drink window is "drink up now-2017" for those who still have bottles.

Cork crumbled on top bus seemed intact overall. Opaque purple black color. Bouquet is on the aged side. Appearance is grainy with sugar coating the glass side. A generous amount of sludge remains in the bottle. Doesn't taste corked but is going down the drain regardless. Way past prime.

Last of 5 bottles purchased at auction in two lots. First 3 bottles were simply outstanding and I gave a rating of 94. The last two bottles we loaded with minerality that resulted in an extremely uncomfortable finish. All bottles were decanted at least two hours before consumption. Perhaps the unpleasant bottles were past their prime or not stored properly prior to auction.

Yes, bottle consumed in November apparently damaged by improper storage conditions (misplaced -- not in the cellar, 'cooked' in warm garage). This bottle very balanced, a perfect foil for beef ribeye and portobello mushrooms to inaugurate new grill.

Opened half-hour before drinking. Nose of perfume, raspberry, vanilla. On the palate raspberry carbonated drink, earth, savory candy. It's in a good place, with subtle tannins. Balanced and complex.

Completely agree with davidandrose. Very herbacious for a PS. This is ready to go with smooth tannins and no noticeable alcohol. We popped and pour with a decant to rid of the sediment. This was very good.

Has the inky-black PS appearance, nose is more herbacious than most PS', but still shows lots of pepper along with minerals/stone. Silky mouthfeel yields great texture, and while this was my sole bottle I feel like the structure is more approachable and softer than I'd expect given most of my prior experience with both Behrens and the varietal. I'm guessing that the window for this is within 5 years, but its really enjoyable now, especially within the first 2 hours after opening.

This one is finally coming around. Tried two years ago and it was way too tight and tannic to really enjoy. I agree with johnwine on the tasting notes. Keep in mind it's unfined / unfiltered, so better decant. I got a teaspoon of grape skins and a small bit of undissolved sugars. Big and rich with some sage notes.

The color of this wine is an inky purple. The nose is somewhat closed but has scents of dark berries with a light herbal note. The taste is not balanced and has plenty of tannin and acid to work on the development of the fruit. There are intense flavors of casis, cherries and blackberries. This is going to be a blockbuster wine in about five to ten years. Let it rest!

Pulls up tannic . Thin mouthfeel. Needs a good half hour decant. Serve at cellar temp.

Decanted for 30 min, then 6 people drank it quick. Black color, touch of blueberries yet still tight.

This bottle at least was well past its prime. Perhaps not fair representation as stored upright at room temperature for past four months.

Blueberries and stones, creamy on the tongue, and a deliciously long finish.

Dark black, full-bodied. Boysenberry, gravel, white pepper. High acidity. Recommend another 1-3 years on this one.
