Still has some tannins, good acidity, not much complexity or finish. Did not pair with Asian foods but handles spicy foods ok. Overall, not particularly tasty or interesting on its own. Would not buy again.

I enjoyed a Priorat Scala Dei earlier in the day and to keep the Garnacha going i order this at Cap Grill and it was very good. It missed the heavier Smoked Meats of the Scala Dei, same vintage, but was so enjoyable with the sliced filet

D+0h: no deposit in the filter nor in the bottle, smells of cherry D+4h: purple red, on the rim cherry red, smells of cherry, eucalyptus and smoke with a little bit of blackberry in the background, smooth in the mouth, medium body, has a little bit of residual sugar, so not completely dry, the 14% alcohol are well integrated, in the mouth cherry, blackberry, smoke and acidity, in the aftertaste blackberry, cherry and acidity, good length (30 sec), really good red wine.

Nice big balanced wine, big fruit of intense dark red, some sweetness, oak to balance but not excessive, good acidity, a lovely combination of all of the lovable elements of a great red wine.

well-made but i detected some oaky notes. my recollection was that this wine is unoaked so this was a bit of a disappointment. Primarily Garnacha, a variety that should never be oaked in my unprofessional and humble opinion!

Watery garnet hue. Aromas of raspberry, stewed strawberry, and maybe a hint of blood orange. Taste was very bright up front, with tart raspberry and a slight smoky, leathery finish. Overall--not my favorite, but not bad by any means. For some reason I am not as big a fan of Riojas... a little bright and sharp tasting for my liking.

90/91. This has characterful aromas of forest fruits, iron, sandstone, flowers, clove hints and cherries. Its medium bodied lightly oaked zingy silky textured forest fruits linear palate has very good depth and decent length, ends tangy. Drink up in next couple of years. Wont make old bones! Good value at under 14 Euros.

Medium ruby colour. Beautiful red and dark berry notes, wild raspberry, cherry, blueberry, blackberry, light coffee, some dark chocolate, spices, light vanilla, and liquorice, with fresh acidity, round tannin, and very good length. The medium-bodied wine is smoothly textured and lightly creamy, with good complexity, good balance, and impressive purity of fruit. Very pleasant! Even more enjoyable than the very good 2018. Very good value! A great wine for everyday drinking.
Tasty value play here, concur with latest favorable TNs, good bones with bright red fruits and a nicely textured cut for easy food pairing. Reliable Spanish <$15 seems to always be among the very best in this category.

I like this a good deal more than others. The aromatics are fresh, take bright red fruits and emerges them in citrus, mostly fresh orange peel. The palate is medium(-) body, trended towards elegant, with an uplifting mineral quality, supported by raspberry and black cherry juice. I tend to prefer this style of Garancha.

Very nice wine and great value, but not really what I was expecting. Nose was a bit muted but plenty of flavor. Much more oak than I was expecting. Not in a bad way, but seemed like more of a Riserva when I was expecting juicy and lighter garancha style. Spice, fruit, oak and acidity were all in nice balance though and it held up very well into day 2 before fading on day 3. Would buy more

Nice wine; outstanding for the price. Cranberry color. Fresh berry nose. Appealing. Pretty palate too, nice and ripe but not overly sweet. Not terribly structured, but it is 12 bucks! 4-11-15-8: 88/100.

92 No se me ocurre ningún vino de este precio que proporcione el placer que da consistemente, año tras año, la Montesa. Fruta roja, vainilla, buena acidez, tanino suave, frescura y equilibrio. Siempre responde. Increíble hacerlo con este volumen de producción. Perfecto.

This opened up nicely after several hours in a decanter. Cherries, raspberries, and flowers on the nose. More delicate than I expected on the palate, with cherry cola and plums. Fruity minerals, flowers, and black pepper on the finish, with a residual flavor of cinnamon and fruit.

Light bodied, fine tannins. Cherry, stone. Fresh acidity. Enjoyable out of the bottle, and even better the following night when the wine was even more integrated.

Medium ruby in color. Red cherry, strawberry, sour sugar, smoke, cinnamon, licorice, dried herbs, oak, and vanilla on the nose. Underripe strawberry with hints of black pepper on the palate. The acidity is on the lively side balanced with some firm tannins. Medium length rhubarb, black pepper, and oak finish.

Second bottle not as good as I recall the first being. Somewhat sweet yet understated garnacha fruit, a little stems and gentle oak leading to a subdued, if not underwhelming, experience. Lacks concentration. Not sure if I was overly enthusiastic last time or if it's bottle variation...

Fantastic QPR. Excellent balance, finesse, surprising precision. Isn't particularly long or concentrated but the oak is really well judged and the fruit - somewhere around strawberry - is delicately framed. No harshness.

Light in color and body; nose and taste are fruit forward; acid is tempered and tannins minimal: this is a quaffer but also goes nicely with food; good QPR

Just a Crianza from Rioja which usually means expect to be disappointed. But nope, for once I am impressed by a Crianza. This does not show too much oak nor is it unbalanced. This has ripe dark cherries, raspberries, strawberries, violets and anise. The palate is surprisingly delicate and even though this is a medium-bodied Crianza with a lush and creamy mid-palate, well-integrated tannins, buckets of fresh berry fruit, licorice, orange peel, bubblegum and a medium finish. Easy and fun to drink! Nice to taste a Garnacha from Spain instead of just oak from spain...o and Tim Atkin this is not 94. 91 for me, if I was blind tasted on this I would never guess a Rioja

Medium-light ruby color. Offers aromas of red plum, toast, hard cheese, and forest floor. Attractive and supple, this easy-drinking Rioja Garnacha exhibits a creamy texture, red and black fruit flavors and a frame of polished tannins.

quite transparent with a ruby glare, wild strawberries on the nose, polished and modern, light to medium bodied, soft, round, pleasant, flavors of blueberry, raspberry and hints of vanilla, texture is super silky, not complex, matches easily with cheese and crackers, acts like a pinot noir with Spanish flair

Mildly fruity, oaky, minor tannin and overall unimpressive. The only strong positive it that it tastes like traditional Spanish Tempranillo.
