A earthy bouquet with ripe black fruits and plums on a base of old spices and leather. Palate has more minerality and spices with the fruits staying at the background. Medium-bodied and polished structure. Clean and deep finish. Ready to drink now.

Enjoyable dryness full bodied. But tannins are a little too harsh on the finish and don’t feel well as well integrated as they could be. Enjoyable nose but doesn’t taste as nice as it smells with a murkiness to any remaining fruit.

In a week when we drank some great wines from Bordeaux and Cahors (all served blind) this more than held its own. Feels like it is in a perfect place just now with some lovely secondary flavours coming out. Recommended!

Un vin droit, de corps moyen, avec un style austère et des tanins un peu durs en finale. L'attaque est pas mal, il a une minéralité intéressante, mais manque de fruit et de charme. 84 pts

Coincidental French (Tanjong Pagar): On the nose, aromas of pencil shavings, tobacco, black and red fruits, pungent spices, black pepper, vanilla, oak, toast, (burnt) rubber, stemmy, bell pepper. Palate was dry, medium acidity, medium+ tannins, medium+ finish, medium to high tannin. Flavours of tobacco, black fruits, tar, vanilla, and herbaceous bell pepper. A nice Bordeaux overall and not too serious.

Dark ruby color with brick red hues. High intensity nose and constantly evolving. Originally animal notes (smoked ham) and spices (black pepper, a little cinnamon and nutmeg). At second time comes out juicy fruit (sour cherries, black berries). The mouth is more 'shy' in relation to the nose, but has a wonderful buttery oil and a 'roundness' which give elegance. Notes of vanilla in the palette, black cherry, an aura of pine needles, and finally, bitter dark chocolate. Mild tannins and medium + finish. 91 / 100

Nose of cassis and a touch of cherrie, some oak. Taste is medium with quite high acidity, and some tannins. Fruit is balanced, revealing cassis, red and dark berries. Also some notes of forrest, as well as leadpencil. Good Pessac-wine, drink now with food, might hold for a while yet.

This medium bodied, smokey, Pessac Leognan wine offers a red fruit and spice characteristics. This light style of wine is probably best enjoyed in its youth.

Violets and reduced fruit syrup on the nose. Simple, straightforward, easy drinking Bordeaux. Big structure, full flavor. As of 11/2011 this bottle was in a dumb phase where the vibrancy of the fruits was gone but the tannins had not yet developed. I would hold on to this one for another 5-7 years before trying again.

medium- bodied with aromas of anise, smoke, and cherry. This is a classic Bordeeaux from a difficult vintage..fruit is thin, but the wine is elegant and balanced with flavors of cranberry and anise. Finish is short but clean with soft, fine and ripe tannins. If I had paid the community average price, I might be disappointed, but for the $19 I paid for it, I would probably buy more.

Not much bouquet but a good length finish and very nice structure. Tannins nicely softened now.

Grand Crus de Bordeaux Tasting: 2005 & 2006 wines (NYC, The Lighthouse, Pier 60, Chelsea Piers): Disappointing. Overpriced at $50 and nothing special. 2005 wasn't any better. 4 bottles remained at the end of the tasting, so others shared our view.
