Pretty and luxuriously transparent purple. Interesting aromas of cloves, savory meats and earth. Some nice red cherry and pine sap to go with its bakers chocolate and Turkish coffee flavors. Easy to drink palate with surprising depth and nice lift.

Sometimes I hit a string of reds that I don't like and I start to wonder if there's something the matter with my taste buds. I hope that this is a turning point. A nice pleasing light red, tastes of cherries and reminds me of gamay. Good with veal and ricotta meatballs in tomato sauce.

Nose: Funk, medium leather, peppers, violet; tomato juice; nose suggests a bolder and heavier bodied wine. Palate: yummy, Merlot-like sweetness of black cherries, tint of licorice (personally a dislike), velvety coating mouthfeel, medium acidity, impressively integrated tannins, very slight savory note of salami, chorizo and tomato; heavy fruity/savory. Finish: short to medium finish.
For price paid, $25 in the US, this is not worth it. It would be okay at $15, although we vastly prefer the Vajra Langhe Rosso at that price.

Penultimate bottle from case bought direct from winery at the start of the pandemic. A little evolution since that point, but I think another year will finish this bottle’s upbringing given day 2 is a clearer purer expression than day 1. On day two we still have remarkable freshness and zing, beautiful dark cherry, bramble berry and lip smacking acidity with none of the vanilla note it had yesterday. This is a simple thing done well- and at the price I paid (12 Euro plus shipping) that should be savoured. Perhaps my last bottle should be opened when this pandemic is firmly in the rear view as this is a wine that exemplifies a simple straightforward zest for life. Root day, for the record!

Dark reddish garnet in color, bordering on opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe red fruit aromas of blueberries, cherries & mulberries with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, herbs, spices, some cocoa & minerals. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, blackberries & plums, earthy, spices & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but has potential for further development with several additional years of aging.

Bright nose, with red fruit, cherry and a little back note of leather. Really vibrant palate, pure sweet red fruits, lots of acidity but nicely balanced by the brightness of the fruit. Light bodied, just a faint peek of heat on the finish. Really quite a fine expression of barbera, best I’ve had in a while

Very nice Barbera. Good structure, yet light and complex. I would buy more. A very good indication of how his entry level Barolo's are.

No formal notes. Relatively lean/tart. Pleasant but not particularly memorable. 86-87pts

Tart, pretty light, nice red fruit with spice and even some salami. Nice, but not everything I was hoping for...
