Ripe raspberries and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate red berries, garrigue, a firm amount of acidity, some oak and a touch of sweetness. Tasting it blind I never guessed this was a 2000. Mature alright, but still fresh fruits. Really nice!

Good in the first two hours. It shown pretty good aroma. Light-medium body and acceptable length of finishing. Blackcurrant, a bit smoky and spicy, meaty, and chocolate. After two hours, it starts become a bit too oaky and savoury.
Light-mid brick, amber edges; similar to last tasting on the nose (flowery, wood, leather, old world); mid-body to soft; gained some elegance with time. w/cassoulet.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry jam and forest floor. It tastes like strawberry jam, forest floor, coffee and chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity.

What is the the expression, "you can never be to rich or thin." Well i can attest that this 15 year old Chateauneuf du Pape is too much on the slender side. The taste is very good. Raspberries and the Good Earth come to mind but the harvest is small and the acreage puny A very singular wine with a surprisingly nice acid backbone. Do I like it? Yep. Would I bring it to someones house for diner? Nope

Better than expected. transparent, good color, little bricking. Really nice aromatics. Good on opening and didn't need much air. Must be at peak, mature but not old.

11 years should have put a decent spin on this wine but the disappointing reality in that it lacks neither the precision nor the funkiness to appease either side of the modern v traditional crowd. Very sweet fruit on the entry - this is a mature wine for people who don't like old wines. Easy on the palate, a little fuzzy, some maturity but really lacks definition. Needs some tannins and acidity in my opinion.

Very good soft, rounded, subtle style of Chateauneuf. Garnet, almost tawny/orange at the rim. Lightish body, plenty of acidity and spice. Plenty of grenache. Not your full throttle CnP but very good nevertheless. This is definitely fully developed and perhaps already on the way down - if you've got 'em, drink em.

Two hour decant. Tobacco, leather, earthiness and truffle / mushroom on nose with similar taste. Good, medium to full body with a nice acid bite about it. Long length with some leather / earthy afternotes.

Even after a lengthy decant it's still suprisingly primary. There is lots of ripe fruit befitting of the vintage, a fairly silky modernesque texture that does fill out nicely over time, and with just a bit of earthy mushroom coming through. Tastes very grenache driven. This was pretty easy drinking but wasn't all that developed.

Decanted and poured immediately. Nice color tending towards bricking and not that deep. Nose was nice. Not jumping out of the glass and a little towards the lighter side. More floral and lighter earth tones. A smooth, lighter approach with a somewhat light mid pallet. More feminine than masculine in it's structure. Not a bad wine and it accompanied the meal very nicely tonight. No wow factor, just average and I needed a wow for a would buy again rating.

Expected more out of this wine. Picked it up in Tain and personally carried it home to Virgnia, thus no transport temperature threat. Oddly enough, we blind tasted it opposite a $12 Rose from Spain. Had some difficulty differentialiting the two--says something about me or about the wines.

Disappointing. Bricking. Nose is very medicinal, licorice. Predominate flavors of black licorice, prunes, herbs, mineral, and smoke. Light-Med bodied. Very different. Good acidity, decent finish.

Drink up. This is mature and my guess is it is starting its decline. More than a hint of brick in color. Nice blackberry and dry earth on the nose along with flavors of blackberry, and hint of tobacco. It is fun to drink a wine that has fully evolved, but I can't see waiting any longer.

La Bernardine Vertical. Medium ruby with bricking. Not decanted. Nose of stewed prunes, earth, kirsch, graphite and pencil shavings. Lots of cherry on the palate with cocoa beans and moderate acidity. Tannins are very well integrated. This is ready to drink now. Paired well with almonds.

Dark ruby, brown hue. Raspberry, spices on the nose. Dark palate, chocolate, fruit has lost definition over time. Medium finish, quite a bit of tartness. Did not meet my expectations.

Lovely and deep Chateauneuf du Pape. Excellent flavor. The Grenache grape has a particular hue to it, making the wine appear a bit lighter. But this has excellent deep flavor. Wonderful with lamb chops.

Anita: Beaut. age on this after 03 Autard; nice lively leather and herbal/spice notes; no pepper on these, but smooth, classic CdP--nicely melded together. A bit smoother than Autard, slightly lighter bod.

Lovely Chateauneuf du Pape. Drinking very well now but no doubt has a long future. At least as good as the Guigal. Thick and concentrated. Dark chocolate, raspberry coulis and black cherry, provencale herbs and licorice abound. Nicely balanced though perhaps a bit hot at the moment. Rich and long finish. Much better than what I expected based on the reviews.

Day 1: drinking nicely but not giving much, closer to a good CdR than a real CdP. Day 2: opened up a lot, characteristic CdP traits with kirsch and herbs, medium-bodied but very pleasing. Ready right now.

A bit closed up aromatically, but offering decent structure, dark fruit, earth, and pepper notes, drying finish with some plumminess. The next day this opened up significantly . Hold the last bottle for a year or two.

Vintages tasting note: Medium deep ruby colour with aromas of raspberry, blackberry, sage, spiced plum, leather and white pepper. Dry and balanced. Drinking well now, but will also reward short/mid-term ageing (1-4 years). Medium full-bodied with a medium long finish.

Tasted unblinded at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle provided by Rob Norberg. Bright disc. Medium ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, showing raspberry and brier aromas. Light to medium-bodied on the palate, with light tannins and similar simple flavors as for the nose. Medium, smooth finish. Although quite pleasant and very drinkable, it does not have the concentration or intensity of flavors shown by many other 2001s at compararable price.

Soft tannins, some fruit, and a bit of alcohol on the finish, which gives it a slightly port-like feel. Not great and certainly on the way downhill.
