Still very tight, decanted and tasted over two days...not sure about this...as after almost 24 hours seemed very thin but early on was very heavy and oaky

Brief tasting note; loads of lush red fruit, mocha notes, sandalwood and slight pepper, palate is lush dark and with a touch of new world ripeness on the palate. Wonderfully layered, I recommend a good 2 hour decant on this, I PnP and it taste still a bit tight. 92++

Full of redcurrant and green bell pepper on the nose. I guess the leafy character is coming from Cabernet Franc. Medium-body with 14.5 alcohol and relatively long finish. Easy to drink and very good value for money.

Very Castillon with its mineral ox blood yogurtness. Dry, salty, shale-ish, chocolate, licorice, red pit fruits, the wine is concentrated but jucy, hot, bodybuilt and a bit generic. I had not been impressed by the 2016, and I'm still not by the 2019 - actually I'm not sure I like the terroir here. Not bad at all yet, but probably overestimated by some critics.
Opened two hours in advance. 750ml. bottle, 14,5% Vol., blend with 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Riedel Vinum Bordeaux glass. Nose is closed. Not much going on. Medium bodied. Shorter aftertaste. Some plums and licorcie. Wood. Very dry. Chewy tannins and pronounced acidity. Alcohol is well integrated. Flavours are hard to detect at the moment. This wine is too young but everything is there to have a good wine in the future. Will hold on on our other bottles and try again in two year. No rating. Showed a lot better the second day. Much more open, some fruit, enjoyable aftertaste. Less tannic and less acidity.
DWS in La Boheme, (By RVe): In the bouquet a lot of very ripe red and dark berry fruits. On the palate the same very ripe fruits, full bodied and sweet and also a firm amount of good acidity. Yoghurt impressions because of the youthfulness. I am curious how this wine will develop. For now 90 – 92+?

Chocolate, licorice, forest leaf, flowers and plum nuances are all over the place in the nose and in the medium-bodied, silky, vibrant palate. The energetic finish expresses earthy red pit fruits and chocolate notes that linger. Drink from 2022-2035.

Initial opening Of bottle gave smells of red fruits and a lil bit of heat from alcohol. First taste was semi fruity (red fruits). Long finish. little tannic
30 min later. Soft fruity nose. Still tannic. Taste of earth Seemed like it’s not opened
5hours later. Wine left in the open bottle smells an taste better than the wine in the decanter. Poured two glasses worth in the decanter. Lot smoother out of the bottle versus the decanter Decanter flavor is less pronounced in flavor
8 hours later. Decanted wine has mellowed down. Smoother. Less fruit on the Nose. More balanced softer tannins. The open bottle still has fruity notes on the nose and very similar on the pallet as the decanted wine but a better overall flavor without getting technical. I’m not a technical person when it comes to wine. As you can see from my notes. Definitely open the bottle hours before you decide to drink. It’s young and semi complex. It needs to rest.

One cannot help but notice the ripe, juicy plums on the nose. The chocolate, truffle and licorice notes that come next are the perfect nuance. Round, opulent and juicy, this wine is fresh, long and mouth-filling, ending with layers of fresh fruits. 91-93 Pts

Medium nose and palate depth. Better on day 2.

An oaky mess. No Bordeaux typicity.
Try again in 5 years to see if anything gets integrated. But not holding out hope.

Found this excellent. Detailed notes missing, but generally like Castillon CdB and found this to be one of the best examples I can recall.
