Tasted briefly - flat in flavor right now; but, not a great time to have 05 bourgognes, so it could be closed. Not rating this bc I had just a sip, but not a buy based on that.

2005 Pinots Blindtasted (Palo Alto, California): Group's 8 (my 7) – 82 pts.; 1, 1, 1, 2 – medium cherry red color; nice sappy ripe strawberry nose; tart red fruit with highest acidity of the group and firm tannin; medium finish (12.5%; nearly half of us, including me, picked it as the Burg ringer)

Silky black cherry, with fine acidity and a nice earthy midpalate. Turns a little chewy and structured, with short to moderate length. Already throwing some sediment. Very happy with the quality for a Bourgogne.

Seems to have entered a dumb phase, which shouldn't last more than a year or two in a generic Bourgogne like this.

For me, headstrong and clearly too young Nov. 2007. Others, more partial to unformed wines, thought it just fine. Time for another bottle.

Not much fruit with acidic finish. OK with food. Not OK without food.

Oaky but not over the top. Vegetal on the nose, lots of acid on the palate. Not great, but not bad for a $25 Burgundy.

Purchased as a cooking wine for a Burgundian stew. Stole a glass. Lots of oak (tannic) and very little fruit. Smells good in the pot though. Mediocre.

Features Presentation at Wine Exchange (Orange, CA): Medium violet. Fresh, even chlorinated nose is followed by a palate of mostly acid. Needs fruit.
