Not at all like I remembered. Despite being past its prime it was really pretty decent. Crisper and more delicate on both nose and tongue than expected.

Wine is way off balance. It has a nice nose, but even on the nose the alchool is too strong. With 15.5% Alchool the wine simply hold up. There isn't enough fruit or acid and it has a taste of Melons dipped in rubbing alchool

I seem to be in the minority of reviewers here, as I found this to be borderline awful. Sweet, way over the top. In fact, I would expect there to be more then the listed 15.5%. Low acidity, leading to a bitter finish. Not enjoyable.

Spicey, Peach, mineral perfume nose. Full bodied with an oaky/mineral/vanilla midpalate. Nice pineapple finish that lasts. Nice complexity. I really like this wine right where it is.

2007 Rhones $20 to $40: This is a California Viognier blend. Golden color. Soft and viscous. Not a ton of fruit (maybe there was more a year ago?), but it has a nice complexity with some grapefruit. A bit bitter on the finish but nice minerality. This group zeroed in on California Viognier pretty quickly for all the good and not so good that connotes. All in all, for under $20, I liked it.

A fascinating Viognier that proves somewhat difficult to review. Pale straw color. I love the nose with its flavors of melon, honey, and light oak. Thick mouthfeel but with relatively simple cantaloupe and honey notes. The finish, though, is very nice: medium-long with buttery honey notes. Thus the difficulty: great nose, thick yet underwhelming body, and nice finish. Also, I would never suspect there’s 15.5% booze here – in fact, I’d say you’re crazy if you suggested so – which indicates some nice balance too. Good value. I would definitely drink this again.

VERY nice wine with lots of flavors - it really announces itself without being too overbearing. Nice melon fruit and honey flavors, would be a great sipper for warm weather.

This is a flavorful viognier with peach, honey, and cardamom on the palate. However this wine does not have the acid to stand up to much of a meal, but it is very tasty on it's own. I am pleased with this wine because it does have distinctive flavors and is very approachable and I never would have guessed that it weighed in at 15.5 %.

Reticent lime nose; lime, floral palate; short-medium finish

Lots of honey and melon on the nose. A nice sipping wine for after dinner. Plus the bottle is one of the best!

Wine Merchant (Findlay, OH): Corny nose. Thick, medicinal. Just kinda off. Oaky. Cokoie notes. Harsh. Not pleasant. $10

Honeydew, honey, and spice aromas and flavors. Not the most subtle viognier, but intriguing and memorable.
