Nose of dark fruits, substantial earthiness, and mild florals - violets in particular. Palate echoes, really displaying the fruit as berries and plums. In a great spot right now. Well balanced with a nice tension beteeen the fruit, and the earthy and floral notes. Only mild tannins remain, with ample acidity. Lovely finish. For comparison purposes, I have yet to sample the 2017 vintage, but I really prefer this 2018 to the 2016. This 2018 is lighter, better balanced, with a more appropriate weight and robustness for what you would expect in a Moulin-à-Vent. *Maison Louis Jadot purchased Château des Jacques in 1996.

Decanted through vinturi, this needs air for sure. Blueberries, red berries, tonnes of juicy fruit with vibrant freshness. Nicely balanced and joy to drink.

A private dinner (Restaurant Yamazato *, Amsterdam, NL): Very ripe style, sweet and supple but just fresh enough, nice hint of spice, blueberries and plums, no excess of alcohol (13.5% ABV), warm and slightly autumnal, fleshy, gentle tannins, good grip on the finish, with very good resonance and length.

It seems I can't keep my hands off this one. Just delicious with those sweet red berries. Nice depth, tension and weight. Balance is great as well, it hardly gets better at this price.

First impressions were excellent consisting of medium++ body, vibrant red and dark fruit laced with ivy and geranium, some earthiness, depth and firm structure. However, from the second glass, notes of vanilla and caramel from the élevage, though never offensive, became more noticeable and dampened my enthusiasm. I think the wine has enough substance so as better to integrate these notes with some more time. Meanwhile already very good.

Abundance of red berries, fresh and live. Particularly good on day-2, same vibrancy and fruit, seems I just can't get enough. Consumed after a good bottle of 2014 Cecchi Chianti Classico Riserva di Famiglia and was on same level.

Expressive red fruits, cranberries + raspberries, some spices as well, robust wine, that will probably be better with another year or two in the bottle. Half of it left overnight and was absolutely the same as day one, so maybe surprising longevity?

Nose of sweet strawberry, red berry compote, cherry, cloves, and baking spice. There is a hint of warm earth as well.
On the palate notes of bright juicy strawberry, cloves, and some cranberry.
Medium to medium plus acidity, medium light body, medium alcohol. Finely grained tannins lead to a drying finish.
This wine has potential upside in a few more years to allow the tannins to integrate, but it drinks well today. An enjoyable Cru Beaujolais, great QPR!

The firm tannin comes in agreeably early to offset a spicy fruit intro, thankfully without bubblegum. Excellent QPR
