Nose of dark fruits, substantial earthiness, and mild florals - violets in particular. Palate echoes, really displaying the fruit as berries and plums. In a great spot right now. Well balanced with a nice tension beteeen the fruit, and the earthy and floral notes. Only mild tannins remain, with ample acidity. Lovely finish. For comparison purposes, I have yet to sample the 2017 vintage, but I really prefer this 2018 to the 2016. This 2018 is lighter, better balanced, with a more appropriate weight and robustness for what you would expect in a Moulin-à-Vent. *Maison Louis Jadot purchased Château des Jacques in 1996.

Decanted through vinturi, this needs air for sure. Blueberries, red berries, tonnes of juicy fruit with vibrant freshness. Nicely balanced and joy to drink.

A private dinner (Restaurant Yamazato *, Amsterdam, NL): Very ripe style, sweet and supple but just fresh enough, nice hint of spice, blueberries and plums, no excess of alcohol (13.5% ABV), warm and slightly autumnal, fleshy, gentle tannins, good grip on the finish, with very good resonance and length.

It seems I can't keep my hands off this one. Just delicious with those sweet red berries. Nice depth, tension and weight. Balance is great as well, it hardly gets better at this price.
