Très bon chablis. Vif avec belle acidité. La minéralité et les agrumes dominent tel qu’attendu. Un regret de finir ma dernière bouteille vu l’excellent RQP, mais dans une belle période.

My third bottle and by far the best. Lemony characters dominate the nose. Also on the palate, which is now much rounder and balanced, yet still has the saline and iodine spine. A wonderful base Chablis. Went beautifully with salmon. Now to 2028

100% Chardonnay sourced from various communes in Chablis sustainably farmed. Pneumatically pressed. 5-7 day cool maceration. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vat. Aged 9 months in stainless steel. 13% Abv. Background: Domaine established since 1815. Wines made by Samuel Billaud up to 2014 when acquired by Domaine Faiveley, which keeps it under separate management. Winemaker: Olivier Bailly
A(ccuray)=2: Pale straw/gold, green tint. Crisp pure varietal. B(alance)=3: Modulated components in harmony. C(omplexity)=2: White tree fruits, citrus, brioche, mineral. D(epth)=1: Savory mouthfeel. Good length and finish.
Wine Tally Score [2,3,2,1]= 8/10
Previously tasted on 9/10/2022. Consistent notes, only this time the purity, savory and minerality became more remarkable.

From 75cl, DIAM-style synthetic closure. A nice whiff of oyster shell on the nose, but the rest tastes about as blandly corporate as Chablis gets. Dilute entry; bland, gripless mid-palate with just-plausible flavour markers and acidity; finish is gone before it starts. Perhaps one for hotel restaurant lists rather than private enjoyment. 86-87P

Random wines tried before service (Oinoscent): The wine is youthful, shows density but lacks complexity, fruit forward, lemon, lime, grapefruit, steely, smoky, could pass for a Santorini (probably because this was after 4 vintages of Karamolegos). In the palate, the wine shos a lot of fruit, ripe apple and pear, medium acidity, mineral, medium body, long finish. Very easy to drink, straightforward

From 75cl, composite cork. Good, fresh entry-level Chablis, quite a relief after a run of premoxed 1er Cru and GC Chablis from 2008 and 2009. It's clean, typical, and has that nice mouth-puckering citrus peel/"oyster shell" thing on the mid-palate, albeit in a dilute, attenuated package. Just fine as a table wine at under 20 EUR; not worth paying over that price point, however. 88P

Really solid village Chablis, tart green apple along with some citrus but outlined with lots of chalk and yogurt, pure, intense and balanced, not the weight and power of what maybe we needed for the food but beautifully rendered.

Brief note. I thought I’d try a 2019 Chablis to start to get an idea of 2019s (having often been underwhelmed by 2017 and 2018s Chablis). And this is a promising start. A Villages level wine with real Chablis typicity. White peach, lemon, iodine, chalk and sea spray. Very good.

Fine, lemony.
Palate showing nice richness and complexity. Again lemony.
A better showing than the last bottle. A good Villages. Now-2026.

Unmistakably Chablis. It has the basic structure in place but doesn’t do much with it. For me, disappointing. Drink up.

This is very drinkable, but not very complex or interesting.
Some apple on the nose. Palate is mostly acid, some minerality.
Good, but not excellent.

A very solid village Chablis from one of my favourite producers. Good acidity and quality fruit. Everything in check.

Winefield's pre-sale tasting: a whiff of wood, dry, a bit angular (give it more time), nice impression, absolutely Chablis.

13% Alk. Eher fruchferne Nase, bisschen Birne, Apfel, Kräuter. Gute Säure und trotzdem Fülle, schöne bittere Länge. Insbesondere als Speisenbegleiter wirklich fein. (92-93).
