Medium gold. Medium+ aromas of lemon, lime, grapefruit, apple, pear, cedar, clove, vanilla, cream, brioche, hazelnut, almond, cut grass. More intensity on the palate. High acidity, medium+ body and medium+ finish. This is very good. Suitable for further ageing but can't help feel this is a little overpriced.

Honey colored Soapy, citrus nose. Odd. Ripe stone fruit. Tight, nice acidity. Loads of Meyer lemon. Medium plus finish. A little waxy. My last glass was the best. This wines needs some air. Don't drink too cold. May improve with some age, but ready to go now.

Young but ever so pretty , granted it is an oaky Chardonnay but it’s also in a way balanced and soft for the style and the oak adds to the mix rather than dominate. Soft citrus , round and polished, vanilla and soft buttery texture. Lots of life here.92 for now

So, its not the Trenton, Durrell, Vine Hill, Dutton or any of the Kistler single vineyard Chardonnays. So? Well, so what. This is their entry level, restaurant Chardonnay blend and its a very well balanced mouthful of juice, with oak, butter and citrus in a long complex finish. Its expensive but easily $25 to $30 a bottle less than the single vineyard offerings and presents a lot of quality for the price.

Reductive at first. Really nice mix of pineapple and citrus fruits. Full bodied but with bright acidity. Kistler has really shot up in price at retail and on the secondary market, but this entry level offering is great.

A powerhouse of a wine. Classic Cali chardonnay nose of oak, toast, some butter, slight ripe tropical fruit notes. Kicks off with fresh acidity, but after second explodes with concentrated fruit and spice notes, almost burning on the tongue. Impressive concentration. Long toasty exit.
Served with lobster soup. Good combo, but the wine almost overpowered the bisque; that says something about how dense this wine is.

Not my style of a Cali Chardonnay, but enjoyable nonetheless. I suppose not all Kistler's are created equal. Posting these notes from St Martin so many of the whites we are having are French. This one is quite Burgundian in style. Lemon, vanilla, grapefruit and a mid pallete which leans toward flavors of chewing cardboard. Long finish with lingering notes of that paper/ cardboard taste.

Deep gold in glass. Nice acidity. As others have stated more Burgundian in style. I got some citrus and pear on the nose and palate. Nice finish. Paired well with salad with lemon based vinaigrette.

A nice Chardonnay, not an oak bomb like one might expect from California. You could quite easily find better examples of Chardonnay at half the price, so this doesn't cut it for me in terms of value.

Pale gold. Pretty much closed on the nose for the first 30-45 minutes. Vanilla, butter and (unfortunately) a small touch of peach and apricot. No citrus notes. Better on the palate, although it was round and ripe it was also fresh. High and present alcohol. Medium finish. Not a good price for the value.

This is a wine that should spend some time in the cellar. Tried one bottle at the time or purchase and it showed unusual acidity for a Kistler. I will let it spend another year or 2 before opening the next one.

Really intense butterscotch, vanilla, toasted sugar and hazelnut aromas, with a kind of lemon zest mixed in. Palate has some searing acidity, which somewhat overwhelms the citrus and pith flavors initially. Electric energy and texture, which I think can benefit with more time. A little bit too oaky for me but probably will integrate with age.

What a big boy! Deep golden in the glass. Aromas blast out of the glass in forms of melon, pineapple, pear, brioche, toast and butter. Bit of coconut in there as well, almost like a pina colada vibe going on here. Palate is thicccc but is complemented by a beautiful acidity that brightens things up to the max. Long, smooth finish you just want to have in your mouth all day long. Stunning effort for people that are not scared of going out of Burgundy.

Chambolle night: A complete doppelganger for a Burgundy at first, most of us guessed Meursault for this. The oak gave a rich wine and a darker colour that made it seem older than it was. Still had ample acidity to give a balanced wine that was very drinkable. Better on pop-and-pour as the alcohol started showing after a couple of hours.

Pale gold. The nose hits the buttery spot! Also brioche, pear, quince, vanilla, starfruit, and toast on the nose -- nice and complex. Moving to the palate -- richness! Very creamy, not too high acid, but with tang on the finish as well as some minerality emerging. Nice and smooth and full-bodied.
Served it after dinner on Christmas and everyone was impressed. Worth buying for a special occasion.
Drukket uten notater, men denne har alt du drømmer om i en amerikansk chardonnay - fedme, smør, popcorn, vanilje og toast, samtidig som den har en fin, frisk syre. Herlig!

Tasted at Martel in Zürich. Sadly, this did very little for me at all. The oak is an almost rancid dairy and is immediate and off balance, even with plenty of air. In the mouth, there are lots of nice tropical fruit flavours and a little lemon rind, but the texture is too gloopy and really lacks freshness for me. There is some complexity (and it is reasonably tasty), but it is rather masked by the poorly judged oak. This would be decent wine at CHF 20 or under, but at this price of CHF 67?! There are so many white wines I would prefer to be drinking for this money.

Lovely tropical fruit character, notes of vanilla, butter, lemon, lime, green apple, pineapple, and papaya? Excellent acidity and minerality provides a strong backbone that allows this wine to stand up well to food. A touch on the oaky side for me, but a few more years in the bottle might help. Very good.

This is stonking. White pineapple, green apple, match stick, all things mineral, gravel, papaya and marshmallow. There’s a beam of Meyer lemon throughout. Long and percolating, with suave tendencies and focus. There’s a round middle and persona, and boy does this please. I see no reason to wait! The body is curved, expansive and yet quite elegant. Drink now - 2028.
On the nose- Big tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, papaya, fresh green apples, lemon, limes, honeysuckle, stonefruit, white flowers, baking spices, oak, vanilla, toast, lemon curd, flinty minerality
On the palate- Big rich and broad, big tropical fruits and pineapple, mango and papaya, fresh green apples and lemons, limes and honeysuckle, stonefruit and white flowers, baking spices and oak, vanilla and toast, lemon curd and flinty minerality, this wine is drinking AMAZING right now being crazy young but needs about and hour or so open to really show its stuff. This wine is super rich and broad for a entry level Sonoma Coast bottling but it sources from 3 of the best vineyards in California so that is not a shock. I see this wine drinking amazing over the next 7-10 years with no problem at all

Given Kistler's reputation for epitomizing certain style, I was fully ready to hate on it but I have to admit I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Yes, it is clearly that full malo, slathered with oak kind of chardonnay - with pineapple cake, papaya, grilled corn on the cob and lemon oil on the nose. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of acidity and minerality on the palate, which kept the tension alive. For me, I would prefer less oak but there's no denying as to the quality of the underlying grape.

Maybe not quite as stellar as some of these notes would have you believe but maybe I'm being a buzzkill. It is elegant and classy, new world for sure, but some lemon and rocks and a little bit of sweetness. Not quite as racy as arnot Roberts or littorai but I can see this being liked more broadly and that's ok. For $60 it's a buy and maybe I'll get another. Kind of like a meursault without the sulfur.
I purchased a 375 on sale at $30. We drank this with grilled salmon. I was anxious to drink this. On P'n P, the wine had a metallic gold color. I's very pretty. I tasted oak that eventually faded. It was a pleasant enough wine; but in my opinion, nothing special. I was disappointed. I thought the 2016 Walter Scott Chardonnay La Combe Verte that I drank last year was much better, and half the price. My favorite Chardonnay is the '12 and '14 Rhys Alpine.
