  • Enjoyed with some prime ribeye.

Wow. Strong black fruit/plums, cola, raspberries. Oak is well integrated, present in front palate with vanilla to follow. Leather, pepper, cloves, anise. Developing well almost 3 hours into decanting. Smooth on entry, racy tannins follow quickly with a long finish.

    Premium price but amazing wine.

  • Deep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color, essentially opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes of violets, tar, minerals, spices, leather, herbs, anise, olives & a hint of vanilla & cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries & plums with herbs, spices, minerals, cocoa & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing (90+ min.). It still has potential for further development with additional aging at which time it may merit a higher score (95+). A more modern style of Brunello & possibly one of the best Siro Pacenti's "VV" Brunellos I have been fortunate to enjoy.

  • Delicious. Young, but delicious. Bags of air needed this early in the piece but a delightful bottle of laser sharp focussed Brunello.

  • Montalcino 2021 Brunello Trip; 8/26/2021-9/1/2021 (Montalcino, Sienna Province, Italy): Fifth Vineyard, though the Sixth Brunello from my 2021 Montalcino tour. The host was as gracious as ever and enjoyed a great 2016 Brunello tasting - the Vecchie Vigne. Brown/Burgundy hue, soft aroma. Soft first taste subtle dark fruits, cherries and blackberries, quick dry finish with a long linger. Leather earthy tastes and a subtle spiciness - the host explained from the South-western grapes which are closer to the ocean. Great wine but quite a premium price.
