Red cherries, tart, fine smooth tannins, medium acidity, medium finish. Hints of earthiness. Very pleasant and easy to drink. Several notches above a daily sipper, but not quite epic...but very nice.

I love this so much. In perfect shape now after a couple hours of air. Bright red fruit yet rich and silky. I’d drink this over many Beaunes and Nuits i’ve had recently. the 2019 vintage at Faiveley is so pleasurable. I can feel the wood treatment but it’s not overpowering at all. Xmas spice and sweet pipe tobacco join the raspberry and red cherry. I could drink this all the time. So glad I have more.

PnP. Nose of red berries, pine needles, and a bit of barnyard. Juicy palate brimming with dark red cherry, red currant, plum and plenty of muscle. Adds a little sour aspect on the finish with grainy tannins and fleshy red fruit skins and a hint of damp earth.

90-91 pts

BTG. Delicately floral with red and black cherry aromas and flavors. Lots of forward fruit that seems less multi dimensional than typical vintages. But still very good weight and density.

Juicy quenching red/black cherry fruit, gunflint reduction evident, a bit of spice and briar. Medium-high acid, medium tannic grip. 13.5% alc. Very good and has the acid/tannin stuffing to age I think.

After my limited experience of drinking PN from Burgundy, I always thought that this wine was light, delicate and sophisticated. In this case, it is the other way around. It is muscular, powerful, full-bodied, but same time elegant, balance with silky texture. Young wine with supple tannins. Spice is here! Big but it stays in the picture. Acidity mixed with red cherry and black currant ( weird from my point of view, but interesting). Long finish with spice, black pepper, grippy tannins ( big muscle here, but I like it). Dry wine, no doubt about it( I should say - very dry) Smell is another story. Delicate, finesse, fragile almost perfumed. Red cherry, violet, strawberry, raspberry.( classical classic)

The nose is punchy, with light florals, deep cherry and some menthol. It has good flesh and depth in the mouth, with perfectly ripe tannins and bright acidity. Delicious now but should age really well.

I liked this a lot. Delicious fruit, vibrant nose, full bodied, some welcome tart acidity on the finish. I went back to the wine shop and bought 5 more bottles.

Spicy, crunchy red fruit. Slightly jammy, riper style but with good freshness to balance it out. Drink now or hold.
WSET Notes:
Medium ruby.
Pronounced on the nose with raspberry, strawberry, black cherry, cedar, clove, earth. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. Medium (-) body, high acidity, medium alcohol, low tannins, long finish.
Can drink now but has potential for ageing.

Top choice, potential for longer aging. Buttered toast, strawberry jam notes. Intense yet food-compatible, delicious.

Quite nice. A bit of reduction on the nose with loam notes. Black cherry fruit. Rather lush and inviting with some mild tannins on the backend.

White flowers, butter, strawberries, wet paint notes. Fruit presence is prominent but not overpowering. Offers good value for a red Burgundy.

Not a bad Mercurey burgundy. Better on second night so I’ll give my final bottle a little more time.
