Medium red color. Aroma: leafy and cherry, with oak spice. On arrival, a silky texture, with acidity full resolved. Develops moderate depth of flavor, mostly cherry and tobacco. Medium finish. A fine match to Thanksgiving day roast turkey, sage-thyme gravy, roasted root vegetable medley, collards stewed with leeks. grits with white cheddar and green chiles, and orange-cranberry-raspberry compote. Bottle #2 of two.

One of my favorite wines of the entire year - which is saying something because I had it with smoked turkey on Christmas night. Spicy aroma and first taste on the tongue. Yet the body is fresh and fruity with a very smooth finish for a Pinot. I will be trying to find more.

This wine was essentially popped and poured, then consumed over the ensuing two hours. It shows a deep ruby/red robe, with a moderately intense nose of raspberry, black cherry, cola and clove aromas. Full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, medium sweet tannins, well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.3%) and flavors in line with the nose. The middle palate is solid and the medium-to-long finish is smooth. Merry Edwards's vineyard-designated wines (especially Klopp) simply need time. I suspect that this wine will drink even better in a year or two but it is currently drinking very nice. Drink now-12/15.

Could not wait... My intention was to check back on this in about a year... I guess I need to get more bottles out of storage. Again, it's better than my first couple of bottles, but nothing to write home about.

Not our favorite... There was a strong after taste... bitter and oaky... I'm sure it was well crafted, however not for us. We were really surprised by this - normally we love Merry Edwards' wines. We will let the remaining bottles sit for a while.

Nice nose, lavender, dusty ripe red berry. Tastes of bright strawberries and cranberry, mineral finish. Not over the hill, still in its prime.

Slightly better than last bottle. Perhaps I should let my last two bottles rest a while longer...

This bottle was better than the last two. The bitter after taste was not there. However, it was just ok - not much depth...

Very dark and almost black. Other vintages of this have been outstanding but this was watery with almost no finish.

Hold this wine or decant for a long time. The fruit is tight and there's plenty of acidity. A couple of years down will only help this bottle.
