Would never know this to be a 21 year old wine. Fresh, light, nose and mouth of citrus. Just the right amount of acidity and sweetness to pair well with the New Orleans style cuisine.

Pretty nose of floral lime with a touch pf petrol. Graceful and balanced on the palate with the sugar hitting that just integrated spot. Excellent wine.

As fresh as a one year old wine, not even a remote trace of oxidation nor fading on any level. Honey layered over a mineral spine, likely to improve for many years.

really great bottle of aged riesling. notes of petrol, green apple, pear, honey. 20 second finish. great balance between the sweetness and the medium(++) acidity.

Madeira @ Triomphe (New York City): Medium yellow in color. Baked granny smith apples, creme brulee, lemons and crunchy minerals. A bit weak on the mid-palate... seems more like a 19 year old spatlese as opposed to a 19 year old auslese. Nicely layered, with hints of petrol (not overwhelming in the least) and copious, nervy acids.

Friday at the Count's with Chris Bublitz (Queens, NY): Light lemon color. Elegant nose of creme brulée, pears and apples, petrol and a pretty perfumy herbal character. Off dry on the palate, mouthcoating with great acid balance. Somewhat less complex on the palate than the nose.

truly a beautiful wine. lovely diesel nose without being over-powering. long finish. for a wine 19 years old, surprising how light the color was... great aged riesling...

Recent Garagiste; 1/10/2008-3/6/2008: Soft petrol with apples, pears and nectarines on the nose. Lightly tart green apples and nectarines on the palate. Sugar is very nicely integrated giving it a easy fruity sweetness versus 'sugar'. Good acidity and even across the palate. This could use more complexity but is very nice. Not going anywhere anytime soon but the integrated sugar tells me its also ready to drink now.

Seattle Tasting Group does Southern Rhône (Seattle, WA, USA): Wow, this was stunning. Like sucking on a diesel tailpipe, this also had notes of honey and some plastic. The palate follows the nose. After a few hours of tasting of big reds, this white rendered me speechless and was truly sublime!

Blind Pinot Noir Tasting (Roberts House): quince, honey, ripe pear, and citrus (lemon). nice finish. and a medium acid level that cuts the sweetness.

Pinot Noir: Burgundy vs. New World (Our House (2033 Brandywine St., Philadelphia)): Concentrated. Lemon with good minerals and sweetness. Nice acidity keeps this humming. Really good. It's not too sweet and is really balanced and focused.
