  • Still fresh tasting. Cherry candy and earth. Drank very well with seared salmon but tightened up over time.

  • This is a really delicious PN, although not quite at the level of the very best 2006 Sineann bottles. Ruby red, with a nose of basmati rice, blackberry liqueur (I'm thinking Chambord liqueur actually), spice cake. Someone mentions rhubarb below: if you like your rhubarb stewed with lots of sugar and some strawberries, sure, I see that. Really very interesting. A bit flabby in the mouth, though: ripe fruit and some acidity but basically in a soft user-friendly style. Easy to drink at this stage; may not improve much from now forward.

  • Deep ruby color, clear at the edge. Medium body. Nose of smoky blackberries and cherries, dried herbs, and a hint of funk. Less complex on the palate, with only the fruit still there, but well balanced. Drinking well.

  • Ruby red, medium body, nose of lingering funk, vanilla and cherry. In the mouth; lots of fun here with piercing but not tart fruit (rhubarb mentioned below is a great descriptor), some more funkiness and a fairly long finish. Lovely wine, drinking great now, but I love the possibilities here. I need to score some more.

  • btennan mentioned rhubarb, and that nails it for me. Or maybe it's triple-berry pie, but with a lot of steel and acidity. My bottle showed some heat, too. The racy acid and the high alcohol reminded me a little of an out-of-whack Barolo. It's tasty, but it's a little unbalanced and tart for me.

  • Notes from day 2. Nice dark red/light purple color. On the strong nose there is honey, dark blackberry, candied rose petal. On the palate there is overripe blackberry, black raspberry, a little licorice, herbs, and a little spice. The finish was above average in length and the wine was balanced with a good amount of acidity. A nice pinot, but not enough complexity to put it up there with the Schindler and the Resonance from Peter. 50+5+12+16+7

  • A: Beautiful Ruby in the glass transparent
N: Clove Honey and strawberry rhubarb pie. Clover flower.
T: Smokey raspberries. Delicate and honeyed summer berries. Herbal and minty with a ring of Vanilla
F: Friggin long, almost eternal. Probably the longest we have ever had.
Overall: Super elegant and refined. Very well integrated and balanced. Near perfect Pinot in my mind.
    V: 3/5

  • This was delicious. I have a selection of all Peter's Pinots, but this is the first I opened from the 2006 vintage...lack of patience. Great dark berries and some licorice. More balanced than I expected, perhaps bordering on elegant, especially for being so young. Wish I had bought more.
