Fresh with green apple, lemon, and lime. Lively on the palate. Maybe just not quite as concentrated as some other examples and the finish is quite short. Still yummy.

Drank over multiple nights, best day 1. Good qpr, fresh, light lemon/lime, green apple, bit of mineral, very light floral, balanced and crisp acidity. Enjoyable, straightforward.

4thWednesdays - April Showers (Texas Wine School, Houston, Tx): pale lemon Medium (+) nose of cheese rind, lemon rind, grapefruit, sharp green apple, wet rock Dry, high acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium (+) intensity flavors of cheese rind, lemon rind, grapefruit, sharp green apple, wet rock, medium (+) finish Balanced wine - acid and fruit ripeness The length is significant Intensity is significant Lacks complexity
Guesses: Muscadet as the cheese rind was consistent with sur lie and the clear wet rock and citrus simplicity said Muscadet to me.
Mistakes: There was no honey, no white flowers and NO WHITE PEPPER. It was in a 1 Litre bottle and I remember tasting this at a sale day at TWS. It tasted quite different. I think it wasn't built to last. Was definitely better last year.

Tasted blind. Clear, pale yellow. Med to med+ aromas of yellow apple, white flowers, lemon, lime, grass, fresh herbs, white pepper. No oak apparent. Youthful. Dry, with nice sweet fruit, med+ acidity, med alcohol (12%). Med body, flavor intensity and length, with a slight bitterness and minerality on the finish. Drink now or over the next few years, not intended for aging.
Cool to moderate climate, Old World characteristics. Possible varieties include Albarinho, Melon de Bourgogne, Gruner, Garganega and S.B. Not aromatic or complex enough to be an Albarinho, not dry and leesy enough to be a Muscadet, not enough minerality and smoke to be a Soave Classico and not enough pyrazine to be a S.B.

Nose: Medium (+) primary aromas of fresh flowers (Acacia?) and touch of grass, with pear and lemon-lime fruit.
Palate: Dry (very little if any RS) and bright tangy high acidity, low alcohol, with primary flavours of tart green apple and mouthwatering lemon curd / key lime, perhaps a touch of quince or lychee, plus a super-subtle herbal note. Very light bodied, yet pronounced intensity due to the citrus fruits, with a LONG juicy finish which doesn’t quit for minutes on the back palate. A bit like chewing Like Juicy Fruit gum without the sugar perhaps.
Conclusion: While fairly simple, this Gru-V is well-balanced, with excellent length and superior aromatic and flavour intensity, so I would consider this very good for the varietal and region. It’s a solid choice for an aperitif or foil for light seafood w/cream sauce, spring vegetables, or shellfish. Fantastic value in the 1L as well.
