  • Great Chilean Bordeaux blend from a 1/2 bottle: The grape variety is Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Malbec 21%, Carmenère 15% and Petit Verdot 4%. Carmenère provides a typical “green” note, bell pepper, blackcurrant, tobacco, leather, cassis, soft oak, graphite, black cherry, medium plus body, still young yet already so good, long green dry finish. Enjoying a night home alone without wife and kids 😊

  • Nose- lightly floral, nice deep berries.
Palate- smooth, medium to full weight, long finish, deep berries and slight hints of forest.
10/11/23 - Drank the rest of the wine with Spaghetti dressed with pesto , pine nuts, and parmesan - it was absolutely delicious!

  • Still too young, opened this expecting it to be a bit more approachable. Very austere, a lovely dark purple color. The nose is very bordeaux with a lot of small red and blue fruits, raspberry, blueberry, cassis and cranberry. On the palate it's obviously not bordeaux and you get a lot more Chilean notes coming from the Carmenere, green pepper, spice, smoke along with cherry and cranberry again. It's a very well made wine that has a lot to offer. I'd like to try a much older version of this but I still think that the price tag is a bit much for what you get, and I got it for 130$ (USD)

  • Nose - rich, dark notes
Palate - rich, full, dark fruits
Delicious with meat balls in BBQ sauce, green chili cheese rice casserole, and green peas.
2/16/23 - The rest of the wine was drunk with butternut squash ravioli, with pumpkin sauce, walnuts, parmesan and sage. Exceptional!
The 2nd half of the bottle breathed for one day in the bottle, and was even better. It was very, very good the 1st night, and it was nearly perfect tonight.

  • I like it cause my dad likes it. It was an old world style wine. There was no oaky scent. Red fruits dominated the nose with some smoky and earthy notes. The surprising part was the lasting, which was so seamless, long, and alluring. It reminded me the wines from BdM. Elegant and profound. This wine is great for old-school palates. I need a little bit of time to digest the beauty of it.

  • Autumnal selections: Deep purple color. Beautiful, deep aromas of plums, black currants and tart wild blueberries, supported by a complex host of mint, anise, coffee, loamy soil, tobacco and campfire – a ton going on here. Grippy tannins, refined edges, and vibrant acidity makes for a tangy, dark and balanced wine. The plum, currant and black cherry fruit is tangy and pure, laced with mesquite, black pepper, loamy earth and graphite, roasted red pepper. The complexity of flavors is matched with seamless integration, and this wine, while expressive now, deserves a few years and a really good decant to show its stuff. Cabernet Sauvignon with 21% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, 4% Petit Verdot, aged 22 months in 80% new French oak.

  • This wine was fantastic, albeit young. Aging potential of many years. It wasn’t ready to be drank yet, but the wine will show amazingly well in 10-15 years.

  • Sena & Zapata Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of wet tobacco + smoke, blackcurrants, blackberries, black cherries, cassis. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), silky fine yet structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of Carmenere chilli bell pepper, dark spice, smoke, wet tobacco, cassis, blackberries, black cherries, blackcurrant. Long smokey spicy finish.
Very good quality. Complex, polished, elegant, ageable. Very well-made.

  • Tasted this at the Sena & Catena Zapata Vertical Tasting organised by Wine Exchange Asia.

Dark purple with a silky texture on the palate. Even the tannins are fleshy and smooth. Nice touch of vanilla and leather layered with chocolates. Fresh berries coupled with mushrooms.

Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Malbec, 15% Carmenere, 4% Petit Verdot

  • A matter of taste - Day 1: *** Brief notes from wine fair, primarily for my own memory ***
    Glass: Stölzle Universal
Obviously too young. Very round and polished, lots of plum and dark fruit, spices, cinnamon. Very good potential. 92++

  • Tastes at Terroir Renaissance. Just released a few months ago. Way too young to appreciate.

  • I'm liking this new style of Sena, it feels like they're going back to the Chilean roots rather than making their wines taste like Bordeaux. Deep ruby in the glass. I thought this was going to be closed, but alas, it's quite open for business at this stage. Ripe fruit in the form of blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries and quite a dominant oak profile. Nicely dosed tannins, but still unripe and slightly out of sync with the acidity/alcohol. Great potential on this, can wait to revisit it in a few years.

  • Carmenere greeness and earth comes through strongly but pleasantly. Light fruit, high acidity, quite austere. For me there is not enough intensity of fruit to balance the structure. Hence will never be a generous wine.

  • A special 25 years anniversary label.

A slightly warmer vintage but elegance and finesse well maintained.

13.5% abv. Assemblage of 60% Cab Sau, 21% Malbec, 15% Carmenere & 4% Petit Verdot. Aged 22mts in 80% new French Oak and 10% foudres.

    Tasting Note:
Mid purple. Impressive floral and fresh ripe red berries notes from the Malbec and signature herbaceous note from the Carmenere. Blackcurrant and blueberry jam too from the Cabernet Sauvignon. Clean minerality. Chewy tannins. It is medium body fresh on palate with crunch fruits, with some leathery and chocolate flavours adding complexity. Already delicious now with some decanting.
