More fragrant and a bit darker than the Blanc Etc., showing marly chalky-flinty notes and apricot skin, some grapefruit pith; fuller bodied as well and very silky. Excellent pedigree, long. Interesting to compare the 2 Daganeau wines. Loire Whites Party Teviot St.

As always, a beautiful glass with DD Silex. Beautiful balance and light rocky taste, long finish and nice complexity. I think we prefer this with age though so the other two bottles to enjoy over the next 10-20 years should be amazing.

light lemon color. Pitched mineral nose. Palate shows some nuanced barrel tones. Almost Bordeaux Blanc in its level of fruit. Melon and cantaloupe. Day 2, a surprising level of clarity to a wine that I expected to have more winemaking impact apparent.

Light, translucent straw yellow with green sprinkles
The nose is rich and complex for a SB, still slightly reductive. Diverse fruits (quince, red grapefruit, lime, apricot, melon) , flowers (blackcurrant blossom, jasmine , acacia) plus crushed stone
On the palate very creamy with a full body, balanced by a very present acidity and a saline streak with lemon zest, with quince and dried apricot in the forefront, blackcurrant blossom and Jasmin, lime and melon, nicely layered and lingering for 40+ seconds on your tongue
Great Loire SB at the beginning of its drinking window

By the glass. No notes taken. This has definitely more gravitas and a creaminess Loire Sauvignon Blanc seldomly has. Overall a very pleasant wine and vs its Loire peers definitely a standout. But, at least this young, it doesn’t have the substance and precision to come remotely close to the best Sauvignon Blancs I’ve had from California (Dana Estates) or Bordeaux – which both represent of course different styles of wine but just have more of everything. Age should certainly help to bring out a bit more but I’m not sure, this is worth the money (not considered for the rating). 91/92 pts

Very young, but already very good. Aromatics unfurled a bit as we let it breathe but even so, a beautiful expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Creamy and not particularly grassy/green at all, some tension on the palate and a very mineral backbone.
Clear upside, revisit in 3+ years.

Actually liked this a lot more than expected for its youth. This also performed much better than the 16. Creamy full bodied mouthfeel leads to a cool palate of mineral, citrus, peach, grass and vanilla bean. Too many other options in the price range otherwise I would load up.

First Silex for myself. Pale straw color. Melon, herbal fragrance on the nose. Grapefruit, jasmin flowers on the palate. Nice acidity balanced with a silky body. Very clean minerality and kinda disappointed by this wine compared to its popularity. I find it a bit too simple, maybe it was too young ? I’d better keep the other bottles to age before having a new try.

This was very pale in color; neutral nose at first, closed. Really blossomed after 20 minutes or so. Rich nicely textured silky body with nice balancing acidity, deep but quiet at first. Light herbal quality, ripe grapefruit blossom. clean minerality. Very nice and ended up first place out of the 12 Loire whites. DD at Akbar blind--Loire Whites. Try again in 2-3 yrs.

Tightly coiled and needs a decant and some air to get it going but once it does it is a highly complex and multi-dimensional wine. Best to hold but I had to open one in the name of science!

Riktigt bra men behöver tid. Klättrar lätt ett par poäng med några år.

Good expression without too much alcohol or weight. Slightly linear.

This was still very primary, needs a lot more cellar time but beautifully structured and very citrusy. Potential to get a lot better

A private lunch (Restaurant Le Coeur, Amsterdam, NL): Magnum. Silky, seamless, subtle tropical and vegetal notes, jasmin fragrance, wonderfully stylish and flowing, juicy and elegant, gentle bitters, perfectly at ease with itself, excellent length. Deceptively easy.
