The wine is fresh with balanced tannins, displaying notes of dark blue and red berries with a hint of maturity. There's also a herbal and spicy undertone, leading to a medium-length finish. Perhaps a slightly sharp alcohol presence.

I'll pencil in 2020 as my favorite recent vintage of Roilette, with its attention-getting bouquet: black raspberry ink, savory and stable; stone perfume; salted fruit sap. Dramatic tension in the drinking event lies in the unexpected merge of saturation, extract and structure with fleet, rollicking fruits, herbs, and seasoning—fraise, peppermint, black raspberry, violets. It's seriously drinkable and drinkably serious. I notice lots of interesting cleavage and nucleation sites for exploration. This is a responsive object, with deeply staining, fresh berry and spice essences. It is a compelling drink in 2023, and my hopes are raised for its future after 2030.
24 hours later, the last five ounces from the resealed tabletop bottle taste terrific.

Still very young and alcoholic, and the finish is merely spice which suggests high alcohol. The nose too, has a basic black fruit and floral mix. After prolonged decanting, there was a very interesting smoke/granite aroma.
On the tongue, the tannins are present, but smooth with texture of clay.
Too young at the moment.

Let's see what this young Beaujolais from Fleurie can bring to my body and soul. An hour in decanter 🕤⏰🕐 The granite-rich soil confers much finesse and charm to Fleurie wines, often labelled the most ‘feminine’ of the Beaujolais crus. In terms of surface, Fleurie is the third out of 10, largest cru in the region. ... Lovely and well recognized sweet aromas of raspberry, red cherry, plum (?). Also flowers, minerals, graphite, smoke ( interesting!). Taste - red and black ( surprise) fruits, minerals, spice. Long finish with spice and... nothing else. I guess either I opened this bottle too soon or I didn't keep in decanter long enough. Anyway great, affordable Beaujolais! RP - 93 Vinous - 93 CT - 90

Earthy fruit on the nose, with a nice floral note. The palate is still a bit tight, but there’s good fruit and a touch of funk. Still needs a few years.

Popped and poured. Medium garnet color. Nose of cranberry, pomegranate, violet and some cured meat notes. Similar flavors on the palate with tart red fruits mixed with savory, earthy, meats flavors. Medium+ acid, medium tannin and body. Over delivers for the price and probably one of the more complex vintages of this wine I have had in a few years.

dense purple color. blueberry, blackberry, dark cherry, and cocoa on the nose. palate full with light acidity, smooth and easy. rich fruits mirror the nose. scant tannin at the end. simple but fruit driven, focused, and delish.
day 2 update- nose and palate show a good amount more earth and confirm that per usual this will benefit from a little extra time in the bottle.

Light purple color. Very simple, bright Beaujolais, not without its charms. Notes of cherry, chocolate and clay dust. Sour cherry on the fruit-forward palate, with sinewy tannins providing a bit of counter-point.

Dark, rich fruit, lighting on tannin, classic and clean. Oxidized somewhat quickly after a few days. Just not for me, but nice to revisit after several years.

Tasted after a 90 minute decant, & the flavour kind of sneaks up on you. Slightly darker than medium ruby with somewhat restrained aromas of lovely earth, sweet red fruit, floral & candy. On the palate, medium bodied tart red fruit, strawberry/raspberry/red cherry, floral, earthy, baking spices, high acidity, medium tannins with a long finish to pepper & crushed gravel. Tasting young & fresh with lots of legs for cellaring. Well done!

Round three, and finally found the wine I expected. Showing macerated strawberries, basil flower, and bay leaf on the nose. Juicy red fruit envelopes herbs and spices, closing dry on black tea tannins. Not sure if bottle variation or just needed a rest, but immensely better than my first two bottles of this. I've hidden the remainder of these from myself in storage for a few years.

Nose of cranberry, green herbs, cloves, and pine resin. Medium+ acidity, light soft tannins. Bright sour cherry notes up front lead to more herbaceous and spice notes on the palate. Second bottle of this, and very disappointed in the vintage. This is usually a young-drinking qpr champ, but the vegetal and spice character continues to throw me here.

A private dinner (Restaurant Bar Bachrach, Amsterdam, NL): Classic Fleurie in every respect. Supple and silky, flowers (violets, roses) and fruit (green melon, cherries, peaches, citrus in the background) very mild tannins, dry but rounded, soft but fresh, far more elegant than its 14% ABV would suggest, lively and juicy, very good resonance and length. Incredibly versatile, perfect for Middle Eastern flavours.

Decanted for 1h. Lovely aromas of bright bubblegum, tart jolly rancher cherries, some medicinal herbs and bark. Palate w bright, mild jolly rancher cherries, nice medicinal herbs and bark for some balancing bass notes, and some minerals. A bit of spritz in the mouth. Nice, moderate finish. Excellent acids w faint tannins on a medium body. Joyous and straightforward. Not really all that complex but it doesn't really matter. This a all about being happy w good times.

Natural cork closure. NOSE: deeply stained with black raspberry blood. It’s steady, and sure of its footing. Violets and orange blossom invade its rooted capillaries. Clay and gravel perfumes bring savory dimension to the aroma, shaped of salted fruit sap. MOUTH: terraces of quartz holding up attenuated, meaty sensations—of berry, plum, iron jam, bush sap, roasted game, and orchestrated garden perfumes (of eastern Tennessee.) Focus, freshness, agile structure. Salt and botany. Is it fresher and more dynamic than the 2019?—which is how I think of 2019 in comparison to 2018. Full throttle. I saved the last 4 oz. and it was a notch better after 24 hours. I've never drunk a ≥14° Beaujolais with this much structure, grip, and full spectrum botanical expression. This will drink well for a decade, and probably longer.

PNP. Seemed a bit raspy so passed through Venturi. Nose was notable for a little dustiness and red fruits. Palate is a little more lean and linear than usual, but I think that it needs a bit of time to settle in. I have had several vintages of this that flesh out at the 1 yr mark and are much more dense. Certainly doesn’t come close to the ‘19 in terms of density, but I think will be good after a bit of patience

Red fruit and spices in the nose, clove, allspice. Medium acidity, grippy tannins end to end. Surprisingly little fruit up front, closes with an odd, off tasting spice melange. While not flawed enough to discount entirely, this bottle was not representative of my past experience with this producer. I have more of these and will sit on them for a couple of years.

Opened and allowed to breathe in bottle a couple of hours before a simple supper of roast chicken, potatoes and beans. A bit earthy at first, wit black raspberry and a pine sap note as well. Darker fruit profile, with a good bit of spice and perhaps even a white pepper note in the finish. Becomes more red-fruited with air, and somewhat brambly on the palate. A bigger, spicier wine than the prior two.

Absolutely banging year for this wine, and a no brainer for the price. Tight coil of perfumed berries, rooibos, clove. Bursting with energy now, and can only get better. At least a couple more year's bottle age would do it well.

Popped and poured. Clean, fresh berry aroma. Fruity flavors of blackberries and cassis up front, tar and a bit of vanilla in the finish. Rich, primary, vibrant, firm backbone, great staying power. Great now with strong aging potential. As always, an excellent wine and outstanding QPR.
Reminds me a bit of cranberry juice, but with alcohol. Sipped over some time and two days, but never could get into it. Lacks the bit of depth that the tardive has. Poured the last glass down the drain.
Another excellent vintage of this label. Bright purple red. Expressive and pure nose of purple flowers, purple lollies, and raspberry. In the mouth there is lashings of sweet fruit. Closes with good acid balance and mild tannins, keeping things in balance. Overall it’s a lovely pure expression of Gamay fruit that kills a bunch of other Beaujolais at higher prices. Maybe a touch more ripe and “pretty” than the 2019?
