Dang. Ok so as a 'Merican from 'Merica, my understanding of Pinot Grigio is a nightmare for those from Italy who knows what this variety can do and is capable of. I will admit that my perception of Pinot Grigio is internally flawed. I've had an excellent PG from Gargiulo from Oakville. But this is exquisite. Pours a medium + density to the glass. Light straw color. Nose of lemon curd and floral perfume which is intense. Entry has the slightest bit of effervescence to it. Bracing acidic character which was better on day 2 (yes there was actually 50ml leftover for day 2 but I wanted to see how the acidity would mellow 🤣). Mouthfeel was more opulent than I thought. Front is mostly acidic tropical fruits, settling in the middle to a young Asian pear and herbal tea notes. Finishes with a dash of white peppercorns.
Must. Find. More.
If you've got these, stash 'em away. 2-3 years will do this some serious good. But if you have to drink these now, enjoy with a nice mixed fruit medley. We paired it with chicken meatball minestrone soup (yes, in 103 degree weather) and it was delish.

Decanted. Now 2h after decant. Aromas of ripe, almost fermenting apples, pears, mild honey, and some herbs. Palate w gala apples, unripe pears, nice herbs, and some minerals. Medium body w nice acids that give some zing. Somewhat short finish that ends with waxy, bitter herbs. This is solid and a nice drink for $17. 87+

Solid PG from Terlan. Pale straw-yellow, bright with greenish reflections in appearance. Fairly intense nose - flowers, grape/citrus, yellow apples. Palate is medium-bodied, medium+ acidity, surprisingly round, grape dominance, v fresh, a bit edgy. Lots of energy going into the finish.

As before: green apple, generic bubble gum, and a hint of lime on the nose and palate. I'd like to add there is a very slight and pleasant effervescence to this bottle that I didn't note in my first review.

This may come across as odd, but it has a generic bubble gum note on the nose, coupled with green apple and a hint of lime. Said flavors appear on the palate, along with grapefruit. The finish is shallow and clean, with some alpen minerality. This is a dry wine best drunk chilled in the summertime. Pinot grigio on its own is not a preferred grape style for me, which factors into my score, but as far as it goes, I actually rather like this expression. The bubblegum works, crazily enough.

Sharp, spicy nose. Lovely, detailed fruit, lemon, spice, black pepper, just a hint of honey. Lemon and honey become more prominent as it warms. Brilliant acidity, great balance. Finishes long and delicate with bracing acidity and lemon notes. Lovely wine. Drink over the next 2 to 3 years.

Oenocosmos tasting (Athens Hill): Nice ripe stone fruit, earthy, a bit flinty, some heavier floral notes, same palate, high fruit intensity, medium acidity, flinty medium finish

First Terlan.
And it won't be the last.

Very nice. A hint of spice to go with the light orchard fruit. Crisp and fresh.

Pleasant orange, white peach, and apple with enough slivered almond to make it interesting.

Smooth with a viscous mouthfeel. More dense than refreshing. A pleasing gob of wine, a good imbibe.
