  • Enjoyed over 2 nights. I liked it better on night 2. Make sure to let it breathe an hour or 2. Way more approachable if you give it time to open up

  • Honestly, my score should not be relied upon. I read other reviews and took their advice to decant it. We did decant for a 1.5 hrs and it is okay but still a little tight. By the time we got to the last glass, the wine had warmed up and was absolutely delicious. No tannins, just a nice heady blackberry jamminess with ever so slight pepper notes. Definetely will buy again, let it sit open for two hours or more so it comes up to about 65 room temp.

  • One hour slow ox. Very very deep ruby color. Dilute black cherry, granite, and cinnamon on the nose. Smooth, dry palate, with very soft acidity. Full tannins on the medium finish.

Easy drinker, but very weak/diminutive. Even at this price point, there are many better options.

  • I typically don't do multiple reviews, but this wine deserves it. Wonderful nose with the right balance of blue, black and red fruit. Great first flavors with a touch of blueberry jam on the mid-palate and a nice balance of oak, fruit and alcohol on the finish. Just a wonderful all around wine.

This is probably our fourth bottle or fifth bottle. I opened up up PNP after finishing off another wine because neither my and I or our guests had enough wine (when can you ever have enough wine?) and it outperformed the first bottle which was $25 more expensive.

This wine has really become one of our favorites. It outperforms a lot of other more expensive wines including the Hall Coeur Cabernet and is very comparable to the Hall Eighteen Seventy Three which is about twice the price.

  • On night one, it had a very strong funk to it that didn’t blow off after an hour. I opened another bottle. Would have scored it in the 70’s that night. The next night, after some air, it was a totally different wine. Dark fruit and a hint of leather. Enjoyable and I gave it an 89 that night. I have a couple more bottles. Will see if they act the same way.

  • This wine is OK but nothing compared to the other Hall wines. Worth a try, but not again.

  • This is a Hall produced wine that runs between $35-40. They use grapes from dozens of growers around Napa valley and then blend. I’m not sure how many of the cases they produce go to Total Wine, but I assume most of it as the folks at TW tell you in the store it’s a wine produced for them to sell.

It is a dark, smooth, blackberry cab with a hint of pepper. It held up well over 6 hours.

For the price, I think it is a decent purchase, but for $5-8 more, the 2018 Hall cab is better and worth the few extra bucks at this price point.

  • I'm drinking the same bottle the 2nd night and I usually don't like the wines the second night but I am still enjoying this wine. It's smooth, alittle fruity but not too much. I would buy again.

  • Decant but manufactured Napa Valley Cabernet. Cherry, sweet plums, oak, vanilla and spices.

  • This wine is spectacular. It has a deep ruby color and a nose full of dark fruit. The first tastes are a fruit forward combination of blackberry, black cherry and blueberry -- all at once and blended perfectly. The mid-palate has all the fruit in a jammy bunch and some dark chocolate, tobacco, pie spices and a touch of new and toasted oak. All that continues with perfectly grippy tannins and a smoothly balanced alcohol that compliment the long finish which leaves you wanting more. I’ll admit that I’m a fan of Hall wines and this didn’t disappoint, especially at a price under $40. I see many more bottles of this wine in my future and I will have to buy them before anyone else figures out how good this wine really is. I was at a 92 to 93 and my wife was at a 93 to 94.

Decanted for an hour and poured back in the bottle to chill for another hour before serving. Paired amazingly with grilled New York strip steaks. It was perfect.

Oh yeah... lest I forget, it is probably the best bottle label in my wine collection.

  • This is a young Cabernet Sauvignon from the Hall family.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very fruity.

Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, sweet candy, mocha, light earth and herbs.

Nice length on the finish with soft tannins.

Showing nice complexity with a nice mouth feel. Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.

Needs a few years in the bottle to mature, but already drinking very nicely.

A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit verdot, 4% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French Oak barrels for 24 months.

    14.9% alcohol by volume.

    91 points.

    $40.

  • Decanted for a few hours, but there's gobs of fruit on the nose and palate right out of the gate. Ripe blackberry and plum notes commingle with well integrated oak and mixed herbs before a wall of tannins takes over and tar notes linger on the medium-long finish. Good structure here, and while it could use a tad more stuffing mid-palate, the Hall DNA shines through. Outstanding Napa Cabernet for the price.
