This wine continues to evolve and impress. Attractive medium amber color; lemon custard nose. Gobs of delicious fruit up front, with an increasingly interesting savory mid-palate. A lovely creamy mouthfeel and a substantial finish. This wine is a stunner that keeps getting better. Wow!

Bottle 1332g. Moderately intense aromas of salted lemon, with herbal and earthy notes. Dry, with elevated fresh acidity, light to medium-bodied, 12.5% abv, lemon and barely ripe pineapple, salinity playing against some sweetness of fruit. Fruit not as ripe and smooth and a lot of Soave – lemon but not Meyer. Clean, crisp, saline finish. Real interest.

Nose mineral, slightly herbal with a touch of stone fruit. Lovely palate of melon, something floral, and kick of acid at the end. Medium-low in body, medium acidity. Finish has surprising length.

Pale lemon, with medium intensity developing aromas of lemon, melon, almond, banana. This wine has medium body and acidity with high alcohol and medium intensity, flavors of lemon, melon, banana, and herbs. This wine has a medium finish and is a good wine that should be drunk between now in 2025.

Nose is very, very ripe. Quince, yellow peach, moving to tropical fruit (melon, pineapple).
Dry (albeit with a noticeable sweetness, not enough to get into off-dry territory). Medium+ acidity, considerably more body than usual (medium+, considerably "oily"), medium alcol. In the mouth, confirm the tropical fruit notes and a touch of walnuts.
Overall a solid soave, but the slightly sweet flavors put me a bit off for me, joined with the fullness of the body making me wonder what the producer is trying to achieve with this bottle.
Will rebuy when in offer.

Medium yellow color. Aromas of quince, almonds and minerals. Ripe, beautifully balance fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Nicely detailed and persistent on the palate. At beginning of its peak drinking period and outstanding with the lobster risotto at Luna Restaurant.

Bought from Waitrose UK online for £16.50 including a 25% discount, Nov 2022.
N....seductive, rich, interesting aromas of roasted almonds, stewed quince, some wet stone, a light whiff of wood, and white wild flowers pressed in my hand.
C....golden hay, looks medium+ body.
T....Wow, this seems as good as I remember Pieropan La Rocca being. A long sustained earthy minerality, some lovely stone fruit, some ripe apple (orange/yellow), passion fruit, quince, ripe lemon juice with honey, ground almonds. A touch of oak. Medium+ intensity. Lots going on but has decent balance - though not especially elegant. Good acid. It seems at the dry end of medium-dry. Drinking really well at 3 yrs old, and might get better in the cellar for a couple of yrs.
VFM?....cost £16.50 yet feels worth £25, so pretty much a bargain. Buying again. My new-favourite Soave Classico.

I'm just recently introduced and a fan of Soave, but man is this good. Has the weight and character of white burgundy for a fraction of the price. Maybe a hint of white Rhone, but not much. The Foscarino certainly has more oak influence, but nothing to ward off the clean white fans like me.

Nose of beeswax, white flowers, a little pear and even pineapple and papaya - good balance of ripe and fresh aromas. Similar on the palate with the addition of a crisp lemon zest and some salty freshness. Excellent balance throughout

Magical: serious Soave sorcery here... Popped and poured and savored over many hours. Gorgeous color - a light golden hue, noticibly deeper than your typical straw colored Soave. Initially, there is a slightly reticent nose of stone fruits and gentle florals with mild beeswax. Later, a whiff of freshly chopped wood and a touch of vanilla. Some salinity and minerality appears after more time. Nose strengthens after 30 minutes of airtime and as the glass warms. Palate amplifies what the nose hints at, adding in mild baking spices. Round and delicate yet bold with a very lengthy finish. Finish strengthens after wine has 1 hour air. So, airtime definitely recommended. Post 1 hour and still improving. Truly amazing wine and quite possibly QPR of the year. *100% Garganega; Diam 10 closure. *Azienda Agricola Inama founded by enologist Giuseppe Inama in the 1950's. First land purchase in 1965 on Monte Foscarino. First vintage in 1991. *Now in 3rd generation, the estate produces 12 wines, including 4 Soave, of which their top two are Foscarino offerings.

Beautiful “liquid gold” color; a white flower nose. Lots of tropical fruit notes as well as unripe peach and apricot. There is an underlying mineral tone, with a touch of salinity. Think a “lusher” Santorini assyrtiko. Definitely worth seeking out. This one is a winner at under 20 bucks per bottle!

Gorgeous golden yellow color; light honeydew melon nose.
Impressive right out of the gate. Luscious tropical fruit up front: mango; papaya and even some unripe peach. Good minerality (flint?)on the mid-palate with a touch of salinity on the long finish.
One of the best Italian whites I’ve ever had. This is not your grandfather’s Soave! Quite an impressive effort.
I understand the oily comment but for me it's also quite saline. Which feels like an odd combination but works. I liked it better on day two when it became somewhat like an aligote with some neutral oak to give it a bit more body.

A serious wine, concentrated, well-structured. A food wine rather than an easy-drinking wine. A fairly deep straw colour.
I decanted it an hour before drinking and then drank it over 4 days and it was at its best on days 2 and 3 and less pleasant on day 4. The flavours were sweeter and less assertive on day 2 in comparison to day 1. The nutty/sherry elements were a bit much on day 4, and the sweeter fruit was hard to find by then. So probably will benefit from short term cellaring to open up a bit. After that, I can hardly say. The equivalent quality Pieropans are recommended for keeping for a few years, so its plausible.
I've only had Pieropan before with quality Soave, and that was a long time ago. My recollection is of something a little less serious, but maybe that's wrong. Anyway, no bad thing, I like serious wine.
I've given it "benchmark decent wine" score of 90. Maybe it's a bit better than that, but so long since I've had this kind of thing I don't know where its going.

This is a really beautiful, distinctive wine. Eric Guido nails the description of the texture--it has an almost oily texture that'd you find in a Rhone white. Musky pear, citrus, and florals abound. In addition to the notes that Eric found, my wife got a pine/evergreen note. A lovely wine, and a great value.

Pronounced on the nose with jasmine, lemon, peach, pineapple, beeswax, wet stone, fennel, cream, toast, vanilla, nutmeg, and almond. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on the palate with lots of toasted almond coming through. Medium plus body, medium alcohol, medium plus acidity, long finish.
Can drink now but has potential for aging.
