Popped and poured, 58F. Stelvin closure. Aromatic nose dominated by raspberry, herbal hints and a touch of vanilla. Pale translucent ruby color, no noticeable heat, minimal tannins, low acidity, light body, no structure. Tart cherry fruit and spicy oak notes on the palate. Short clean finish. Very simple but quaffable and food-friendly wine. Thinking that this wine might show better with a bit of chill on a warm summer night.

Light pale red; lean nose with plenty of raspberry; elegant expression with a silky touch of lightness to it; on the bottle it is written “a silky texture with rose petal and red cherry flavours” - I tend to agree

Cherries and raspberries on the nose. Bright, light to mid bodied, with red fruit flavors that expand in the mouth. Displays wood spice complexity on the back end and picks up toasty persistence the longer it sits in the glass.

This Russian River pinot is not as fruit-forward on the nose as the Knotty Vines brand (managed by Rodney Strong) we tried recently. Similar in appearance (light raspberry on the pour, see-through). Light-to-medium bodied. Medium acidity (tart cherries) on the palate, though not to the level of an apple. A little oak. Raspberries. Neither sweet nor dry and not alchy. A little surprising, given it’s 14.5% ABV. Possibly a little oily. Not particularly tannic, though maybe a little dryness on the sides of the tongue. Overall quite similar to the Knotty Vines version, in that it lacks personality or depth, or any one attribute rising above the others. Did not have with food.
Decanted 1.5 hours. Which may explain some things.

Interesting enough Pinot noir. Notes of cedar, chocolate, berries, and a hint of smoke. Palate had much the same, but especially berries. Opened up in the glass over 25 minutes, but quickly fell flat.

Oddly pale red but great with peppered pasta. Nose- hints of raisin. Bright and flavor pack taste. Zingy with and whipped tail end leaving one with the need for a further taste.

88 seems to be the consensus and we agree...that's pretty good. Perhaps not as good as some prior vintage Strong RRV Rodney Strong Pinots, but quite respectable for a Tuesday night wine. Varietally correct, a tad thin which I attribute to too long breathing, this probably is a pop'n'pour if you want a stronger version, but this is in drink now window. Cherries, cola, the usual. A lighter version than some vintages but still recommend for the price.

Light crimson in the glass. Nose of cherry, strawberry, cedar, and floral. This is not CA archetypal Pinot Noir. Smooth entry with a mouth of strawberry, cherry, and floral. There’s a tiny hint of medicinal red fruit, but it’s fleeting. Completely resolved tanin. Decent acidity. Long finish. Overall, the wine is pretty well integrated from entry through to finish. The fruit on the palate is a bit thin. But I will take less pronounced fruit over a cola, syrupy, RRV Pinot. Good value at <$20.

It has that California flavor profile, but not the cola and merlot flavors that I find out of place. Interesting depth and nice finish. A bit pricey at $20.

Has that Cal. Taste but not overly fruity. Nice depth and finish. Light color but that’s no big deal. I’ll see how it tastes tomorrow. A bit pricey at $20 but I’m sure it’s available for less.

Good value. California style (more fruit/less terroir than Oregon or Burgundy).

Great crowd pleasing cali pinot. Nothing extraordinary but slightly above average. Light and easy drinking but checks most boxes of a classic Pinot

I don’t know how they can make a Pinot Noir that tastes this good for $14. Hard to find a better weeknight wine. Consistent year in and year out.

Seemed fine at first, then I grew a bit tired of it. Strawberry and red cherry with some peppery taste. No underlying depth and gets a bit acidic.

Very good RRV Pinot Noir although I think other vintages of this wine might have been slightly stronger. Oaky vanilla, cherry most dominant.
