80% Mencia and the rest indigenous varietals. The village wine from Envinate’s offerings from Ribeira Sacra. Dark-ruby colour. Gamay-like profile with wild strawberries, blackcurrant and green stem. Medium acidity with soft and plush tannins. Moderate finish.

Sans note; vraiment facile à apprécier, beau mélange de fruité foncé, d'épices & cette impression de poussière de roche bien présente en arrière plan. Belle équilibre, gouleyant & avec juste assez de structure. Très agréable.

Hard to keep my hands off from these knowing how nice this wine tastes now but knowing it still has time to polish itself. Another nice bottle and much better after a couple of hours of air....fruit forward, good structure, will age well....no rush!

Primarily a pinot noir drinker, so this was interesting. Definitely a little more wild and rustic, with some blood/irony notes. If you look up a photo of the vineyards, you will understand why. I think this wine needs food, and Spanish food with lots of smoked paprika does the job well. Not sure I would drink this again (personal preference) but it does seem like a very well made wine.

Tannic at first, but evolving quickly to full drinkability. Light body, moderate to high acidity, cranberry notes with an overall herbal, medicinal character. This is a lively, intriguing wine that on the first night seemed like some of the natural wines from Beaujolais, but on the second night had rounded out a bit and tasted like a Southern Rhone.

Consistent with my previous bottle. On the nose lifted aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, plum, roses, peppery spice, orange peel, slate and old wood. Complex and seductive. In the mouth mouthwatering acidity, with a touch o VA, gentle structuring tannins and long vibrant finish.

Great QPR here ( we pay the equivalent of around 25 U.S$ here in Quebec) Full on red and blue fruit, soft spices, bit of stem and well integrated oak, fresh and lively in the mouth with some fruit, bit of pepper, this gets better with some air and will be a pleasure to drink for the next 15 years easy so no rush opening your bottles.

This pours medium to light ruby in the glass with flecks of pink toward the watery rim. The nose is intense and complex from the first pop and pour. Totally in my wheelhouse. Aromas are of cinnamon, blood orange, strawberry, plum, cherry blossom, crushed slate, thyme flowers, dry soil, cardamom, cocoa powder, and star anise. The palate is youthful showing copious red fruit with citrus and spice accents. Tannin is medium plus and acid is medium. There is just a touch of back-end bitterness that holds this back a little, but I expect that to age out. Really quite a structured wine but the balance here is immaculate. The finish is a tad clipped today, but I suspect this is mostly due to the structure. All in all this is an absolutely brilliant, stunning bottle of wine. An astonishing value at $30 CAD per bottle, and despite having had a lot of envinate wines and several vintages of this bottling, this one has blown me away.

P&p; expressive and ready to drink right away. So aromatic, like walking through a rose garden - almost stinky earth but in a good, 'Burgundian' way, with effusive fresh flowers and crunchy fruit (yes fruit can smell crunchy) along the lines of black cherry and strawberry, with some spice and a hint of smoke. Similar flavors, delicious fresh fruit, crunchy acidity. Some tannic grip as well. Seems like drink or hold... no, drink AND hold. Good stuff!

Red and dark fruits on the nose with a bit of green peppery spice. The 2020 was a hot and dry vintage which gave small berries with high skin to juice ratio making more structured wine. I think this should really blossom with 2-4 years of bottle age.

So good. Been seeing Envinate wines around town for a bit but finally tried this one as my first. Village level Mencía with a label that reminded me of cru Beaujolais from the gang of 4. For me, this was basically a Spanish style Foillard Morgon Cote Du Py. Red fruits, funk and the lightest touch of smoke on the nose. Velvety soft mouthfeel, with cherries, blackberries, some like smoked pepper, and funky acidity. My goodness. I love cru Beaujolias and this was right up my alley. Curious to try one with 2-3 more years of age.

A wine that has lots of red fruits, cherries, rasberries and spices but also a significant amount of brett that got worst with air. Maybe a bad bottle

Nice balanced, high acid, I found it to be very gamay-like. Would recommend serving slightly chilled, maybe 50°F
