93+ and I think it will move up with a little more time. Classic Pesenti, fruit, fruit, and more fruit, perfumed, nuanced herbal and mushroom notes, finely integrated silky tannins, great acidity, lush, and smooth minerality. I hold the 2019 in pretty high regard and this one is *maybe* slightly less complex so far and pnp had a slightly harsh finish that blew off after an hour in the decanter and settled in nicely.
First of my '20 stash of Pesenti, even though I had one '19 left in the cellar, I felt like I needed to try one of these.....the nose at the pnp is quite expressive and classic Pesenti. Riveting fruit and energy.
Palate is again, all Pesenti. Dark red/black, spicy zin fruit bursting with acidity and energy. Integrated and balanced and lively, to say the least. Very tempted to give this one a 94 but I'll hold back for now and assess the rest of the bottles down the road. Pesenti fans will not be disappointed with this vintage. Zin is not about depth or layers or complexities. It's about fruit, and spice, and energy. This is a beautiful entry.
addendum: kept a small glass open to air for about 4 hours and it did retreat a bit and mute on both nose and palate, so great from the pnp and for about 2-3 hours right now.
On the nose- Dark berries, dark cherries, blackberries, dark blueberries, red raspberries, cassis, plum, baking spice, figs, wild herbs
On the palate- Dark berries and dark cherries, blackberries and dark blueberries, red raspberries and cassis, plum and baking spice, figs and wild herbs. This wine is big and lush with medium tannins. This wine is drinking KILLER right now but needs time to come together. It will need an hour plus decant for at least a 1-2 before being touched. I see this wine aging for another 5-8 years if not longer with no problem at all.
typical presenti, bramble and fruit. a little less nuanced than past years but maybe this needs a little more time.. will wait for another 4-5 months to have another bottle.. drinking wel, just not as complex as i expected. even though it is a baby.
Tasted at the winery 5/5/22, followed up with a bottle 5/13/22 with dinner at a local restaurant. Paired great with a sirloin steak. Drank immediately after opening, but enjoyed over the next hour and it opened up nicely. It is a very nice Zin, but still young, decant recommended if drunk now, and it will probably benefit from a few years in the cellar.

15.9% abv. Dark ruby, very aromatic. Right off the truck, this is quite primary at the moment, red cherry, white pepper and a bit of heat. Should come together nicely over the next few years.

I generally love Presenting but this was just not ver complex and just a lot of fruit. Some spice. But not nearly as good as Presentinof the past.

Great zin! Fresh tart fruit takes center stage. Perfect amount of underlying spiciness.

Dark ruby color, scent of leather, red fruit and tobacco, subtle earthy flavors and long dry finish, wish I had another bottle.

Strong cherry notes on the nose and upfront on the palate. On the young side by still a tasty selection!
