Very pleasant wine. On the sweeter side with mild acid & fruit. A little bit of tannins in the finish. Pairs very well with food - particularly with fish.

Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes Winery: King Estate Varietal: Pinot Gris. Area/Appellation: Oregon/Willamette Valley Vintage: 2021. Price: $13.99 Kansas Market Color: very pale light yellow. Legs: evaporates quickly, Nose: yellow melon, green melons, cantaloupe, Palate: more with the yellow melon, the hint of cantaloupe, yellow pears, Second day a little bit better in the vibrancy and melon and cantaloupe dept. Still the acidity is leaving the fruit “out of bounds.” Finish: A hint of tangerine and yellow pear. In that area it’s come a little bit together but still at the very end it’s really very obfuscated. Comments: I know everybody wants to know where’s the grapefruit note, well on this particular vintage I don’t get it I get more cantaloupe more of that drying “puckering” that goes with that particular fruit. So everything was kind of hot and dry until they started picking Cabernet in the end of September, but by then, the Pinot Gris was done and I think well done was the problem. This doesn’t remind me of the Pinot Gris I used to sell in the Days Of Old at my store and I got to admit it’s been about a good 10 years since I’ve had a King Estate Pinot Gris. I just remember more fullness, more acidity, less dilution. Don’t get me wrong I noticed the acid in it, there’s just something about that in the fruit that’s just throwing me off. I can’t tell what it is. I would probably need a pro to explain it to me but I’m lost on this. Have I been drinking too much Italian Pinot Grigio from up north? Pairing Suggestions: salmon fettuccine, shrimp with ravioli, pork tenderloin, Score in terms of Vintage: 84 Score for the Wine: 84 Value for the Money: Just OK😐🙄 Date Tasted: 07/01/2022 Tasted by:ACK
