  • Fruit salad, citrus, banana and some apple on the nose, as well as some farty reduction. The dry, slender palate continues with these ingredients, adding stony mineral acidity. Medium to long finish, tapering towards the acids. Fresh, linear and approachable, and (as is to be expected) excellent with food.

  • My first Txakoli and there was a few surprises.
First, the colour is deep golden.
Then, the nose is as aromatic and explosive as I expected. There yellow apple, maybe kumquat. But then there are also very pronounced lees ageing notes. I get cottage cheese or slight umami, maybe distant hazelnut. Together these notes blend in something banana-like that shines against minerality backbone. Very complex nose for the price point.
On the palate, it has high acidity but also medium+ body which is surprising but exciting. I get more of the lees notes and maybe some pear and citrus. Minerality as well.
Finish isn’t very exciting but the acidity does linger a long time.
    8+/18

  • Such wonderful vibrance and energy here. Green apples, lemon-lime, stone fruit, and honeysuckle from beginning to end. Crisp, dry, so succulent, the flavors streak across the palate with a laser beam of acidity backed by a lick of salt. Crisp and crunchy on the tasty finish.

  • Good, gets better on day two — I’d say it’s about comparable to Ameztoi, though I do wish this were the ‘22. It’s holding on just fine but it feels maybe a bit rounder than a perfectly fresh one.

  • Bottle off the wine list over a lovely dinner at Next Door Spanish.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, greenish yellow lemon colour. Thin legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of sea salt spray, steeliness, lovely stony minerality. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, mouth-watering high acidity, low alcohol (11.5%), medium body. Medium + flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe honeyed peach, grapefruit, green limes, steel and stones minerality, Riesling-like body with a hint of petroleum. Salt and sweetness towards the medium+ salivary finish. Acidity recedes a little as it warms up.
Very good quality. This is one of those small little gem wines that is a superb QPR. Drink young and fresh.

  • On the nose lime and apple aromas. Medium bodied, dry, quite fruity with a bit of effervescence, showing ripe white fruits and some lime with decent lean acidity. Felt rather fresh and fruity reminding of vinho verde. Nice.

  • Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow": Spanish white wines (By AG): In the bouquet white fruits and some banana flavors. On the palate slightly sparkling, white fruits, some bitterness and minerals, slightly drying, a lot of citrus, lime, grasses, medium acidity and a touch of sweetness as well.
