fine medium red color with lighter rim, at opening all strawberries and tea leaves on the nose, endearing midweight on the palate, very primary, after 8 hours- cherry notes and a hint of pink rose petals accompany the lively wild strawberry notes on a nose that gently wafts from the glass and inspires a smile, savory dried leaves, on the palate joyous- spicy and punchy cherry and berry fruit leading into a savory finish of dried tea leaves and herbs with an undercurrent of ripe fruit, a most attractive wine that should reward a few years in the cellar.

Really wonderful. First blast on the nose was Luxardo cherry. Some spice and lots of earthy dirt. Light bodied, appropriate acidity. Palate is dark cherry, some tobacco & leather. Had a faint moment of chocolate. Nice complexity.

As with my last time trying this cuvee, this was already extremely pretty and effortlessly delicious in its very early stages, and yet it's obvious that a few more years will be beneficial, especially structurally. It's not hyper-expressive, but there's a beautiful, persistent presence on the nose already (no decant) with fresh sliced strawberries, deeper bing cherries, vague flowery perfume, nuances of thyme or wild mint, and touches of new leather, or maybe something like salty charcuterie (VERY subtle, nearly entirely about the cool, fresh red fruit.) Notably more earthy on the palate, with more of that leather tone coming out, dry earth and herbs, etc with more of the bright, slightly sour cherry thing (just a little more subdued than on the nose.) Tannins are obviously pretty noticeable, but I wouldn't call it coarse or gritty, just a little dusty at this stage. Very elegant and super-typical; ordered it off the list at Spinasse, a great Piedmontese restaurant in Seattle, for a few folks who were both decently-versed in Nebbiolo and others who had never tried one- both groups loved it.

Not as open and enjoyable as my last bottle; this one feels somewhat closed aromatically and needed a lot more air for the aromatics and fruit to emerge. It's a lovely wine, though it gives the impression that it's starting to close down for a bit.

Medium clear slightly tawnied crimson- nose of somewhat distant clean fresh red fruits from cran to straw to rasp to cherry with floral and menthol lift - spicy powdery tannins and bright acids within spitting range of balance - for its pretty fresh fruit and balanced structure I will consume in the remainder of my 6 pack in its lovely youth.
Medium bright ruby red in color. Full, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruits aromas of red cherries, strawberries & currants with overtones of earthy/dusty, floral notes of roses, coffee, herbs, spices, minerals & hint of cedar in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of red cherries, tart cranberries & currants with earthiness, spices, herbs, minerals & toasty oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing but will develop further with additional aging.

Roses, red cherries and tar. Nice tension, that expands on the palate the longer it sits there. Good but not overwhelming tannin. Needs some time to show all of its stuff, but it's pretty giving now.

Convinced this had some riserva juice in it (it doesn’t) given the tension, the energy and the towering structure. This is light, strawberry coloured, not the usual slightly darker hue. I can’t quite recall the vintage credentials but my lord does this taste promising, with some aggressive tannin hiding some minty, feline and floral notes and high acid juice. Probably needs some time to relax a little but will be great when it does.

Pure class. High short grained persistent tannins and restrained red fruit, potpourri, and spice. Enjoyable now with a long life ahead of it. One of the most consistent wines vintage after vintage. Best cooperative in the world? I think so..

Took a sneak peek to see if this was a wine to stock up on. Already showing amazingly well but will of course evolve. Pure and classic Nebbiolo notes with strawberries, tar, roses etc. with a beautiful acidity and tannins that are manageable, especially after 1 hour or 2 in decanter. Great quality for the price. I'm going in on this.

Nose: Muted cherries, Earl Grey tea, a hint of mint, savory consommé notes, some distant flowers in the background. Fruit takes a background seat. Mouth: Mid-weight, tannins not too aggressive, fresh acid, slightly tart finish. Definitely a food wine. 89 = upper echelons of very good. Objectively it is very well put together with obvious cellaring potential. Lower enjoyment factor for my palate. This was best with food (chorizo and red onion pizza) and not particularly attractive on its own. The fine sand paper tannins were poking out a little (I am aware this is Nebbiolo) but my overall feeling is that this is best left for at least 5 years until its 10th birthday.

Another solid effort in a somewhat better than so-so vintage. Xavier's experience/tn mirrors my own, fwiw. That said, from the first sip until the final one, my mind suggested that by letting this rest for another few years, the game may have changed a bit for the better as this will likely reveal some cards that are currently being held close to the vest. I'm happy to have a few (and a full set of the Riserva wines), and will look to drink this Annata wine from 2026-2034. 14,0% abv. As always at this address, it's easily highly recommended

The 2019 Produttori del Barbaresco is just as delicious as the 2018. I decanted and poured, and then I sipped a very excellent wine. There are hints of Cherry and Cassis. Tannin is hardly a factor. I think that another five to six years will greatly improve this wine. Is it worth $48 a bottle? You bet!

A very tannn driven wine right now. I mean this was tight at initial taste. Nose is cherry some iron and wood barrel. In mouth the wine is similarly cherry, tar and licorice. Had to wait till mid paltette to even find the fruit. I suppose this will be a better wine with years to age. I am a fan.

Excellent bottle but took a while to open. This definitely needs another 5 years in the cellar.
On the nose: dark fruits, and a whole lot of spice and iron.
On the palate: dark silky cherries, cinnamon, cloves, grippy tannins and a long finish. The fruit notes unfurl and develop into hints of plum and underripe plum skin. Lovely acidity and length.

So many young bottles falling these days...really need to go to offsite. Anyway, this was a wonderful Monday night pizza wine. Sweet dark cherry fruit coated the polished but numerous tannins that provided a nice textural chewiness to the wine without making it too bitter or disrupting the finish. Yes, this will get better, but for me you can drink this now with a lot of pleasure. Or in 10, 15 years.

"Stupid good" - amazing quality for the base Produttori with a core of sappy red fruited flavours framed by light herbal, rose petal, and earthy notes. So easy to drink right now even with plenty of fine grained tannin underneath, and a polished/silken texture. Definitely need to buy more of this.

Med coravin 29/11. Jordbær og røde bær (kirsebær på nesen). Servert for kald i begynnelsen. Etterhvert litt lakris/anis.

Still a youngster. Pale red nebbiolo color. Lots of fruit in the nose. The palate is very pleasant with softish tannins for a young Barbaresco. This will certainly improve over the next decade.

From magnum and really a pretty albeit entry level wine. It does work however and albeit it will not win any complexity awards it is a dependable well made and at this young age delivers on the fruit. Good 89-90 and drink sooner than later.
Pale ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with ripe strawberry, morello cherry, forest floor, licorice, tobacco, anise, amoke and rose petal. Medium taste of ripe strawberry, morello cherry, forest floor, licorice, tobacco, anise and smoke. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium (+) tannins. Full body. A very good Barbaresco with great potential. Drink now or over the next ten years. Goes well with beef, lamb or mushrooms.

91-93 potential range. When consumed now, it certainly stands out distinctly from the previous vintage, with a more austere tannin, a more floral bouquet, and still in a strong closure. These wines require patience, and I have no hesitation in describing them as great despite the truly incredible price for this level of quality. The color is pale, typical young Nebbiolo, with plenty of small, fresh, and tangy red fruits. The alcohol is present but never overpowering. The hints of mint and flowers (mainly roses and violets) are beautiful, distinguishing and elevating the drinkability and pleasantness of this wine. The tannin is still rather rough and impactful. It should be waited for at least 3-4 years before entering its phase of pure enjoyment. Outstanding persistence and acidity. Terroir and recognizability are the signature of this producer.
91-93 range potenzialmente.

Clear crimson. Opens with floral bouquet of violets and fresh roses, touches of slate and tar. Precise, dainty and with fine yet structured tannin. Young but approachable, and with oodles of development to come.
Deep perfumy nose of tree bark, gravel, and sour cherries. The palate feels quite bright supported by lovely small red berry flavours, plus lots more of that sour morello cherry. High acidity and tannins as expected, feels in good balance with the fruits, with a medium finish. Not much complexity but there's good substance of fruit here.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like fig, raisin and tobacco. It tastes like blackberry, black currant (cassis), raisin, cinnamon and stoniness. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

A private dinner (Café Maurits, Amsterdam, NL): Bottled October 2022. Pale strawberry red with a watery rim; aromatic nose, red berries and spices, flowers (violet, rose), slightly dusty, hint of undergrowth; supple attack, nice hint of sweetness, good weight (14% ABV), lovely balance and harmony, firm but feminine tannins; creamy finish with very good resonance and length. Delightful now, good future. Drink now - 2030.

On opening harsh and unbalanced, after having emptied the 2018 Canon all was good : medium weight, typical nose, good length, clean fruit. uplifting. Slightly more elegant and balanced than the young 2017 at same age and giving Bruno Giacosa Asili 19 a run for the money.

On initial pour the nose is dominated by a new car / fresh tar smell and the fruit on the palate is hidden under this flavor and a wall of tannin.
After 3 hours in the decanter (e.g. enough time to put the kids to bed), the new car smell settles down, some tart cherry comes out and the tannins settle down a bit, though the remains pretty tannic and carries plenty of acidity.
This is a promising wine with the structure to be very nice in 5-10 years, but it’s not nearly as approachable as the 2016 was at this point.

This will be amazing with at least 5 years of age on it. Bright and lively. Juicy red fruits & berries, violets, roses, wet soil. Excellent structure. Wish I bought a couple more for the cellar but grabbed this first one from a lastbottle marathon.
Dried roses, tar and increasing amounts of cherry as it opens. Bright structure yet the tannin is lighter than expected. The fruit density is also much lower than expected. It really fades in that area over a couple more nights open. For me it needs a few more years to integrate best but I wouldn't be likely to give this one a long cellar slumber. Its maybe more balanced and classic than the '18 but also not one for the ages. That said I think I will like this one better over the medium term than the '18 given its great build.

Tasted at the Produttori with Aldo Vacca. 2019 is a lovely vintage in Piemonte, especially Barbaresco. This Classico/Normale was open for some time before we tasted it in the afternoon. It showed as a slightly bricked ruby color, somewhat lighter than the 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo. It was very fragrant with spices, florals and minerals. High in acidity and tannin this needs the air and preferably some additional aging. Palate is rich and chewy, quite open knit, with minty cherry and mineral undertones. Long on the finish and fairly approachable for a young Barbaresco.

Very good! Needs substantial amounts of air at this stage, but shows a very nice concentration of fruit and pleasant aromas of cherries, nuts and hints of leather. A good candidate for medium term cellaring.

Delicate flavours of cherry and redcurrant, well integrated oak, a firm but pleasant tannic grip. Medium length with juicy red berries in the aftertaste.

Aromas: bright cherry, red fruits, rose.
So aromatic and exuberant.
Grippy and astringent tannins, with medium plus acidity.
Love this wine but will let it settle for a bit before opening another. I'll enjoy the '18 while waiting for the '19 to improve.
